Bucky
I am pretty sure he did sign with adidas, but the NFL only allows players to wear Reebok or Nike shoes, and he has to wear those NFL (Reebok) gloves if he wants to wear any at all, so when exactly is anyone going to see him in adidas?Bucky

FiddySicks
Bush said he'd donate something like 25% of profits from jersey sales if they let him wear 5. Even as a Bucs fan, id prolly buy a Bush jersey if he were to do this. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Survival79
did the Compition Comitee come up wiht a decission yet?Bush could wear No. 5, for nowRookie awaits ruling from NFL owners Saturday, May 13, 2006By Mike TriplettStaff writerThe NFL's competition committee discussed possible changes to that rule during a conference call Friday and will report on the issue to all 32 teams at the league meetings in Denver later this month, according to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello. Aiello said the committee has formulated no formal proposal or recommendation at this point. For the rule to be changed, two-thirds of the NFL's 32 owners would have to approve. "If things have gone wrong, I'm talking to myself, and you've got a wet towel wrapped around your head."
harperdc
Didn't Reggie sign with adidas? yup - the girlfriend of one of my fraternity brothers works for adidas and was his personal assistant at the draft, actually. so if you didn't like his suit for the draft I know *precisely* who to blame and, of course, adidas owns reebok now...I'm expecting the NFL to switch brands within a year or two. I'm sure adidas cleats would be allowable in the situation too.and after seeing him play this past season against UO, bush is inhuman. absolutely inhuman. Period. and has the same amount of NFL creditability as Mo Clarrett does at the moment. i dont think they should change the rules just for some kid thinks, he's the best thing since sliced bread. by RoscoeUA by gingerbreadman

amare32
He is human. Period. I'm guessing No. 4 is pretty fast, but perhaps No. 5 is slowing down for an underthrown ball? Mmm-hm.
Zan the Fan
Yeah 'Number 4' is a converted safety and since Matt Leinart is the greatest QB in the history of the universe and USC was the greatest team ever, I refuse to believe that the pass was thrown any way other than perfectly. NFL Hall of Famer Reggie Bush couldn't avoid getting lit up.

You know the funniest thing about that clip is? That hit was nothing. If you play(ed) ball you know waht a hit is. The dude hit Bush while his momentum was going behind him and it also looks like he may have still been in the air. Id like to see the end of that play where Bush pops right back up like it didnt even happen. Mac the Knife
People will buy his jerseys regardless of what number he wears. That's just plain fact.Tell the kid to take a number in the regular range, shut up, and play. Amen. Give the kid #45 and tell him to STFU.
Mac the Knife
I never even knew the NFL restricted players to a certain range of numbers per position, granted I haven't grown up with the sport as my #1. My first question is why do you think it is benficial for players to be restricted, and why would it be a bad thing if this particular rule were dropped?Secondly, could Bush be listed as a different position player, take #5 but line up in his regular position?thanks The rule was instituted in '73, but 'grandfathered' for players who had played prior to that, so it wasn't really in full effect until the mid 1980's.It's beneficial for game officials on the field, and for those in the press boxes, helping them more quickly identify players who make penalties, carry the ball, etc. Having done radio play-by-play of high school games, and knowing what a nightmare player identification can be without benefit of a 'spotter,' I would LOVE them to institute this type of system at the game's lower levels.Would it be a bad thing? Yeah, but not because it'd make it harder for officials or anything - it'd be bad to do it now simply because it'd be seen as the NFL buckling to a rookie player. Could he be listed as #5 and line up in his regular position? Yeah, but eventually the Saints would get fined every time he stepped on the field wearing #5 - and there aren't enough Saints jerseys in the world to be sold to make up for the fines they'd eventually get slapped with - the NFL's fines are progressive for this type of infraction, starting (I think) at $5,000, and basically doubling for each offense thereafter ($10K, $20K, $40K, $80K, etc.)
