DrBear
From Yahoo News: Baseball fanatics will be able to rest in peace inside a coffin with team colors and insignia. Major League Baseball has a marketing deal with a company called Eternal Image. It'll put team logos on caskets and urns. The effort begins next season with the Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Phillies, Cubs and Dodgers. It could eventually include all 30 teams.Let's get the obvious jokes out of the way:Betcha the Angels will be popular.Padres, too.

myartsaywhat
Many years ago I saw a news report about a Green Bay Packer fan who had a coffin painted Packers colors and logos. It sat in his front room next to the tv waiting for him to die. I think these are cool. Make your last ride the best one!!!

Cuz they've been dead for years now Not sports relatd, but I'm pretty sure Dimebag Darryl (from Pantera the one who was murdered on stage in Columbus) was buried in the official KISS Kasket they sell. dfwabel
There is another company, Collegiate Memorials, which has had licensing agreements with over 40 colleges/universities since 2000. They do not sell directly to the consumer, but rather through individual funeral homes near the college location. in 2001, I remember hearing that Nebraska was to top seller with 50 coffins sold that year. slats7
Since I'm going to hell, I might as well take the Yankees with me. If so, the Devil Rays would be more appropriate.
logodawg
Update on this topic. I just found out that my friend's cousin is the guy that owns the company. I guess some of the family is kind of embarassed to be related to him. I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this? FiddySicks
I dont see whats so wrong with this. Ive seen headstones with sports logos on them. Sports is a very enjoyable and passionate part of many peoples lives. Why not celebrate that along with their life? You would be correct in that, Gene confirmed it shortly after. I wonder if these are going to be as "wild" looking or more mellow with just logos and colors or fans and all sorts of images.
