bengals shoulder stripes

while watching the ravens bengals on nfl network, by the way a big snorefest (so i watched pistons vs. heat mostly) i noticed that on the sides of the bengals jersey's the top orange stripe is lighter than all the rest. is it the lighting, fabric or a mess up it just bothered me watching it.

i dont know if u can really see it in these pictures or not but watching the game u can reall tell there was a difference. does someone know if its a mistake or its like that for a reason. sorry if this has been brought up already.

The top stripe is screen printed on. Its like that on the XT (or whatever they call the one jersey between replica and authentic) that I have.

Yea, the top orange stripe is silkscreened on the jersey. Which is different that screen print, because the silkscreen holds up better.

BTW, it's an EQT jersey, with the inner color of the numbers screened onto the tackle twill base.

Yeah I noticed this last season. It looks really shoddy and cheap if you ask me.

If the different shades of orange on the tiger stripes is what bugs you about these jerseys, I fear you may have lost perspective.

I really do not like side panels especially white on a dark jersey. If they would dump the panels and get a more unique number font I might dislike the uniform set a little less.

From what I gather, the orange section with the tiger stripes is limited in how high on the shoulder it can go because of where the two pieces of the jersey are sewn together. For some reason, they wanted the orange/stripes to go up on the shoulder a bit higher, so they silkscreened more orange background, to create the illusion that the orange background section runs higher than it actually does. Therefore, it's not an orange "stripe", but an artificial continuation of the orange background.

Not only is "Screen printing" no less durable than "silkscreening," it's the exact same printing process. Screen printing just isn't done with silk anymore.

Maybe you'd be more comfortable speaking on a subject that you're expert in... Football, right?

Well the difference between embroidery and stiching is that embroidery stands up better because of the tackle twill. The sewn on stiching just cannot match its superior quality.

It was because of the rain. It darkened the orange fabric on the sleeves making the orange on the shoulder really stand out, since it was screened on.

I did this a while ago...removed the White panels, put the "BENGALS" wordmark under the collar, and even though you can't see it here - put the "B" on the back neck.

Makes quite a difference. Definitely looks better with the different wordmark, too.

Dude, that clip of the little kid yelling "Thats Racist!" kills me everytime I see it. Where is that from?

People keep wanting them to remove the white panel but I still believe it belongs. It mimics the underbelly of a tiger.

Well, it's nice of you to clear that up... I'm just going by what I was told at a t-shirt/sign shop out here. I don't know how any of that works, never been involved in it before.
