Also even though it may sound stupid, would like to thank all of you for opening my eyes to this. I'm registered on a few other forums and haven't had such comments made towards my posting abilities. No one has ever said anything, so thank you guys for stepping up and trying to assist me on improving this, so I can become a better member of this community.

Honestly, I didn't jump in because I think your posts are unintelligible. You're far from the most heinous offenders on these boards, and I have never had a particular problem that I can remember reading what you write. The errors you make may be annoying, but they're not much more than that.

I jumped in because you sounded like you were going the route of blaming others. That rankles me more than people whose grammar and spelling aren't guidebook perfect. (Very select are the few of us who are anal retentive enough - or who had parents who teach - to pore over the minutiae of the rules of the language; we're not asking for perfection, we're asking for a thought that's easily read and understood the first time. That's it and that's all.) There is nothing wrong with self-directed learning and self-directed improvement. Just because the school system doesn't have the means to spoon-feed knowledge to you doesn't mean you have to spend your life in ignorance. It's your life; take ownership of it. No one can deny you the right to better yourself, however you do it.

Just don't wind up a godless capitalist like Fred. He's smart enough to spell like a 'Merrkun but chooses not to, perhaps in keeping with his dry sense of humour. (I keed, I keed. *sends internet dap of the knuckles out to FTJ, in whatever parish he calls home*)

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

The site is clearly a joke, despite its defiant claims that it is not.

If the webmaster still insists its serious, then its just an attempt to say something so outrageous that people pay attention to him. He's just following the model of Ariana Huffington and Ann Coulter, so who can blame him?

For what its worth (and its not worth much, a wooden nickel perhaps that will give you splinters when you put it in your pocket), but for what it's worth, I think Bobby Orr is the greatest player I've ever seen. I rank him above Gretzky. I say that as an adrent Habs fans, who clapped in delight every time Montreal triumphed over Boston. So this isn't homer bias, he was just simply - the best.

He revolutionized the sport, much like Lawrence Taylor revolutionized the linebacker position, or Jacques Plante revolutionized the goalie position, or Babe Ruth brought a whole new era to baseball. Well, okay he's not in Babe Ruth's realm, but he's damn close.

Should I? No, no I won't. I'll leave it.

Heheh, look at this...

Pat Quinn was only the first soldier in a small army of men dedicated to returning hockey to a sport of gentlemen, where team play and good sportsmanship are valued, not thrown aside for selfishness and flashy shenannigans.

Okay, okay, I get it, because no human being on Earth writes that sentence without his tongue firmly planted on his cheek.

The site's funny, to a point, but never really comes around with the gag. It's like War of the Worlds, without a definitive punch line. Here we all are paying attention to it though.

Orr, is still the greatest I've seen though, better than Gretzky in my opinion.

One more comment: Grammar, in forums such as these, is not only optional, at times it?s overrated.

It would be better if the site somehow implicated Derek Sanderson as one of the reasons he doesn't belong, 'cause then you'd have an excuse to post photos of Sanderson with that ridiculous moustache. As we all know, moustaches are always funny.

A wise man once said, a man's moustache is a man's freedom. That man was Steve Raible, and we all know his words are holy and revered by all sane men on Earth.

That's a joke, son! Don't you get it? I made a funny, son, and you're not laughing!

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Why is the Grimace holding a ruler and a tack-hammer overtop of that barrel?

You mean, over top of that cobra basket? I think its because Grimace didnt notice from his angle that a dead goldfish had already eaten the Cobra, so he wasn't going to be able to charm it up out of the basket.

And I think its a flute, rather than a ruler.
