Chris Houston to Dallas? Then Henry can move back to safety...or Branch...or Meachem.

Nope, none of those 3.

Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue.

I know they just picked up Jason David, but the Saints should totally go with Houston here (or some other corner). That secondary was awful in the playoffs.

Brandon Meriweather, of Miami.

He of the helmet-swinging infamy from the UM-FIU debacle.

But I bet $5 that he will somehow be transformed into a model citizen in New England.

2 straight years of no Super Bowl, yet people act like the Pats have won the past 5. Jeezus.

I know, right?

I mean, three in a row is an amazing feat, don't get me wrong, but um uh...yeah--damn.

The Pats won 3 in 4 years, not 3 in a row. Also, Pioli and Belichick would not have taken Meriweather unless they were absolutely certain he was either A. Miscast as a troublemaker in Miami (HA) or B. feel he has the tangibles to turn his problems around. I'd love to see us grab Posluzny with the 28th pick... he fits the Patriots mold to a T.

If this happens, I'd be very satisfied with our first round selections.

Damn...I made THAT typing error? ANd I KNEW it was 3 out of 4.

Damn I'm losing it!!!

Okay, this is really a smart move, the Saints really don't have any bonafied receivers besides for Colston. Meachem will really help out.

Quick thoughts:

-Meachem to the Saints, don't you need like a defense and stuff?

-Cleveland might of made their best move in a decade, if not longer. They got arguably 2 of the 5 best players in the draft, not bad.

-I think the 3 people the Colts were circling as the likely first round picks all went by #25, of course Alan Branch and Paul Polusluzny might still be available, which would be very nice. Although, part of me just knows I'm probably going to hear Dwayne Jarrett's name, which would make me sick inside.

And now the Rams take Adam Carriker. Big dude. Might be a good one.

Just got back...I think I should be happy, and I'm glad to have another NEBRASKA! player...but Crouch and Philips also are there to provide caution.

Also...to whoever said the Rams should draft Quinn...

Bulger will be their QB for 5-6 years. They don't need to get his replacement.

EDIT-and now having seen that the Quinn "crisis" has been resolved, I hope he gets on a motorcycle with Kellen Winslow Jr. for being overrated.

I'm less sure that character is what they look for now after "character" guys blew it in the playoffs the last two years.

Moot point though...Joe Staley to San Fran after a trade.

I respectfully disagree.. character guys didn't blow it in the playoffs, injuries and lack of depth blew it in the playoffs. Also, why would the Patriots change their mindset when it's been working fine for the past 6 years. Now go ahead and make your arguement well they haven't won the Super Bowl in 2 years so clearly it isn't working, they still win, but you can't ALWAYS win the big one. The Patriots would not, and I repeat, would not have taken Merriweather unless they were certain he would not be a cancer in the clubhouse.

Trade details:

San Francisco gets pick number 28 (Joe Staley). New England gets pick number 110, and the 49ers first round pick in 2008.

The Niners have 10 picks in the first four rounds, so why trade next year's #1. Don't get me wrong, Staley should be a damn good football player and could anchor that line for years, but damn...

The moves New England made in free agency this year indicate that there has been a change in their priorities. (Not that everyone they had was "character" anyway...Rodney Harrison's a thug and always has been)

Down to the final 3 picks of the first round, does anyone think a team will try and trade up to get Greg Olsen? I doubt San Diego, Chicago, or Indy would take him. Some people said Chicago might take him, but I just don't see it.

Build now for the future. The division's wide open, and they got close last year. They're trying to lock up a playoff spot today.

Craig Davis to San Diego...Guess adding weapons it is.

EDIT-checks "key" additions for Chicago.

Archuleta?! Jeez...they've done nothing this offseason.

Greg Olsen was shown wearing a Bears cap, so guess that's their pick. One firstie left..and it's the champs.

Please don't take a receiver, Indy...you need defensive help. Line, linebackers, or secondary...doesn't matter.
