xxjdm66
I'm sick of this template, which has ruined the looks of several club and national squads. Getting rid of the chest sash will be a big disaster and kill one of the defining looks of the MLS. Hopefully the jersey will have the sash, which I am assuming will be the color of the collar. We'll see how this one turns out, but from the looks of this template, it might suck.Yep, my thoughts exactly. The colors are okay, but the jersey as shown is pretty lame. The sash was such an awesome and unique look, and it would look great in these colors.Adidas killed Mexico's awesome WC06 kits by switching to this template. Boo Adidas.Mexico used a Nike kit in WC06 and then switched to Adidas Redskin IS a racist term, no matter how Daniel Snyder tries to spin it. Fred T. Jane
Meh. Nothing more... nothing less. Just, meh.Agreed.Their logo set was the one, apart from New England, that could stand the test of time from the inaugural teams, at least to me. Too bad it got wrecked. Boo! [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. totc
That's really nice, are all the MLS teams switching to advertising on the front of the jerseys now? Yes, even though Honda is grandfathered in for the Chicago Fire to appear on the back and sleeve.Right now it's:Galaxy: HerbalifeToronto: BMO BankChivas USA: ComexRSL: Xango beveragesI personally liked the back-and-sleeve advertising because it was unobtrusive. But in a "Rest Of The World" moment, it's about time we got with it, ya know?

The sleeve was okay, but the back looked like they just slapped a bumper sticker on there. The team logo on the front bothered me also, not because it looked bad but after everyone started putting badges on their jerseys the front became redundant. AJM
NEW YORK (AP) -- Honda will end its 12-year sponsorship of Major League Soccer, the company confirmed Thursday, leaving Anheuser-Busch as the last sponsor who has been with the league since its inception.Barbara Ponce, manager of corporate diversity advertising for American Honda, said the company sent a letter to MLS informing it of the decision."The reasons are based on the changing competitive landscape and shifts in marketing strategy," Ponce said from the company's Los Angeles headquarters. "Sponsorship decisions are proprietary."Major League Soccer senior vice president of marketing and communications Dan Courtemanche said MLS had not received any official notification."We're continuing discussions with Honda and have senior executives meeting with them next week," he said. "We're also speaking with other companies in the automobile sponsor category."Honda was one of six original MLS sponsors and its logo has adorned the back of the Chicago Fire jersey for several years. The Fire, however, opened a new stadium in suburban Bridgeview last year, selling the naming rights to Honda's rival and calling its building Toyota Park.MLS officials are planning to meet with Honda next week and are in discussions with at least two other potential auto sponsors. SabreGuy
I really like the change in logo. Definitely an upgrade there, IMO. I know the shield thing has been done to death, but I never really understood what the hurricane/triskelion thing was all about. But really (and this may have been their sponsor before, I just don't know) HERBALIFE? That's sad, to me. Might as well be sponsored by "Placebos R Us" for all the good that product will ever do. Though I seem to find myself disappointed more often than not at the companies that manage to sponsor soccer teams around the world. I guess at least it's not an online casino. Gothamite
I like the crest. Solid upgrade. Clean, bold. Looking forward to getting a better pic.The jersey - ugh. Adidas continues to throw these messes out on the field. How the Rapids got lucky enough to avoid it is beyond me. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. patsox
They didn't technically avoid it. They just didn't color the design of the template in.
Gothamite
True, but the effect is beautiful. Why more teams don't do that is beyond me.They may be stuck with the template, but they could make it work if they so chose. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. zjac7
I can't really say it looks bad - the old color scheme and sash were so unique though, that I have to consider it a downgrade. Not to mention that it looks so much like a Real Madrid shirt...
