New LA Galaxy Logo + Kit

I can't really say it looks bad - the old color scheme and sash were so unique though, that I have to consider it a downgrade. Not to mention that it looks so much like a Real Madrid shirt...

Because it's white and made by Adidas?

Or because it's in the same template and uses similar colors?

If that's gonna be your criteria then I suppose RBNY's shirt "Looks like a Real Madrid shirt" just with red instead of blue/black/purple.

You're so right - that new Galaxy shirt in no way, shape or form resembles that of Real Madrid. I don't know what I was looking at earlier, I mean it's not like Adidas or MLS would have any reason to design a shirt that looks like Real's - not when they can just copy RBNY instead...

I know the shield thing has been done to death, but I never really understood what the hurricane/triskelion thing was all about.

Oh, I don't know...

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Well, of course my point was that it didn't look so much like a galaxy, and looked more like a hurricane inside a triskelion.

Not that the Carolina Hurricanes logo looks like a Hurricane. In fact, I'd say THAT looks more like a galaxy.

Clearly missing the point. Not trying to rip anyone off. It's a template. I'm sure if Nike had the contract with MLS people would be saying it "looks like they're ripping off Man U/Arsenal/Whatever template Nike decided to use." It's a template. Similarities are going to be unavoidable. Especially with such a ubiqitous color as white.

I get what you're saying. It's just a shame that they went from having such a unique look to one that at first glance brings to mind a different club...

That's not it. Come on its a mock up based on a 10 x 10 pixel image.

The logo is much more detailed and classy. Its a sharp look I think. Not too euro, but not too american either.

Clean and classy. I like it - quite a nice soccer badge. My only beef is the use of Chicago for the team name - but if that's just a mockup by a fan, that's subject to change, naturally.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

nice, clean, classy. Kinda Lakers-ish too (truer blue and gold than what the Lake fans think is blue at least!). Dig how they have a star in the crest, but not the 'normal' way it's been done by all the other teams.

like I said in the other thread, the template sucks a nut, but at least the color combinations are decent. then again, I'm partial to gold and blue, so there you go.

I hope they kept the away/alt in yellow...to at least preserve *some* tradition.
