rtrich11
Just playing with a couple versions of this. Tell me what you think...besides "you can't fix the Longhorn, so don't try." I know you can never replace it, so I'm definitely not trying to. This is just a different way to look at it.I should note that I am a former Longhorn myself and like our current logo. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
Sc8b
I love both of them, especially the second one. Not sure how they'd use it, but I love it.
cajunaggie08
Cool logo. definatly should not replace the helmet logo. good work

Turkleton
I like the bottom one, I follow the Longhorns myself and I wouldnt mind that as an alternate logo
kewp80
I can see the bottom one being in the center of the basketball court, it looks great. I don't know how else they could use the logo besides merchandise and stuff, but it looks fantastic none the less. Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool Check out my music! Mings
If they were to replace the current one, this would be the way to go. Its classic and timeless. I would maybe "western" up the wordmark just a hair to give it a little more flair.
winghaz
I agree with josh -- a more Western wordmark would be the way to go. Otherwise, great, especially the Longhorn in the state of Texas.
rtrich11
Thanks for the comments, guys. I think I'm going to stay away from the directly Western looking fonts, though. There's really nothing western-y about the campus and area. I realize it represents the whole state, so I could find a font with a wee hint of old style, perhaps, but I hadn't found one I liked yet. cafepress.com/artbyrichards

vicfurth
The 2nd logo far surpasses the first. Hate the school, really like this logo though.4 /
Rod_Thompson
The bottom logo encompasses everything about "The Great STATE of TEXAS." The bottom font would be good for the ENDZONES. The logo could be used for the 20 yard line.
nwtrailtrekker
very interesting. i think it would do well with merchandise.
allyb96
Great logos, reeeaaally nice, but from my point of view the second one is too similar to the Austin Toros logo, from the NBA Development League : http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?lo=77uiiwds9ea5gqxr58h0 AllyB96Quest for the 25th : HABS ALL THE WAY !Vincent Lecavalier - 1998 NHL Draft - 1st pick overall, TB - from Rimouski Oceanic, LHJMQ1996-1997 CHL Rookie of the Year -- 2003-2004 Stanley Cup Champion -- 2004 World Cup of Hockey Champion and MVP -- 2006-2007 Maurice 'Rocket' Richard Trophy Winner -- 2 Times NHL All-Stars Game Participant
Epiphanic
Absolutely stunning. The bottom one is far stronger. It would work well with alternative mechandising. Excellent work. "In the arena of logic, I fight unarmed."I tweet & tumble.
swilson160
Love the bottom logo, and the top wordmark. Amazing job!
MVP
Love both of them, but the second one is better. Spectacular stuff!
VitaminD
I'm with the others who prefer the bottom one of the two designs. It'd work, as iconic as the longhorn is.Did you consider working a lone star into the design somewhere? The steer's eye? The white patch on the upper snout? It may come off as gimmicky as a "Western" font, but I'd be remiss if I didn't at least ask. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
rtrich11
I like this wordmark font the best. Not too contemporary, not too old. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
