Vlad Guerrero just hit another 2-out 3-run home run in the 6th.

Is it me, or is Vlad one of the most underrated players in baseball?

Underrated? How can someone who is always talked about as being among the game's best be underrated?

Oh by the way, Manny won't be taking #24 with him to Hollywood as it's been retired by the Dodgers. (Walter Alston)

Maybe "ManRam" can start his Dodgers tenure by assaulting the equipment manager who informs him of that bit of news.

I would seriously hope he's learned his lesson from that, although he probably hasn't.

Anyways, Manny has selected to wear #28 as a Dodger, and this would be my attempt at a sneak preview...

That looks so wrong... and yet so good at the same time... He will do well there.

And that Angels' Halo thing is SOOOOOOOOOO cool, I never heard of that before! I think the CN Tower has to light up blue and white for every Jays win for a bit, that would be bitchin'.

Ah. My favorite memory of Man Ram as a Red Sox was when he hit this one home run against the Indians in last year's ALCS, and acted like he won the liberation of the universe, even though the Sox were still down by a sizable margin.

Of course he got killed by the media, but I found it hilarious.

I wonder how many teams have these "signals of victory" that you can see from outside the ballpark.

Of course, the Cubs fly that "W" flag (or in the case of a loss, an "L" flag) after a win so the folks on the trains can see if the Cubs won as they head home from work. The Rays light up the roof of Tropicana Field orange after every Rays home victory. And as we saw above, the halo lights up after each Angels home victory.

I don't think the Braves have any sort of signal.....

Granted, a lot of the major deals were made before the 31st, but this was a really quiet Deadline Day, in comparison to previous years.

Thank God Manny was traded - now we won't be treated to the serious uniform violation of his freakin' helmet and hopefully the Red Sox are smart and throw that worn out ding away.

I wish there was a MLB rule that said all helmets that didn't CLEARLY show the team logo couldn't be used in a game.

I agree, I think taht the batting helmets should be cleaned every game and dirty helmets should result in a fine.

Angels win 12-6!

Just another Halo victory!

So, Light Up the Halo!

24_light_up_the_halo.jpg

(Yes, we only light up the Halo after wins, Home or Away.)

Yep, I love that tradition (hence the member title under the avatar). Sad thing was that I was even in Anaheim today, yet didn't get close enough to see it.

Not gonna lie, even as a fan of their biggest division rivals, there is a lot about Angels games that I really like, the tradition of lighting up the halo being one of them.

Yeah, I LOVE the Angels as a team, but I also LOVE them as an organization.

Definitely one of the classiest organizations from top to bottom, from player to fans, from front office to stadium operations, and of course out in the community.

One of the best

I love the Halo, the Rally Monkey, ThunderStix, the new "Steal 3rd' promotion (a little leaguer gets to run from the left field pole to 3rd base, rip 3rd base out of the ground, and run back to the pole in a certain time limit, and the kid keeps the base), the new singing of "Build Me Up Buttercup" during the 7th inning stretch after "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" (yeah so we kinda ripped Boston's Sweet Caroline, so what. It's always a fun time in the stands), Family Sundays really do live up to the name (just all around fun for the family), pop-ups to little leaguers before the game, letting kids do the PA for one inning,...

Oh and most important... a WINNING tradition :D... oh and did I mention the food selection! To die for.

The one thing I dislike at Halo games... those damn FanFoto people. THey claim to work for the Angels, they dont. THey are a private company hired by the Angels. They walk through the stands all game asking anyone that will listen if they can take their picture claiming it's free. Sure its free to take the picture, but when you go to get it online, its $30 to DOWNLOAD the file of the picture. And you can order prints. Crappy photos taken midgame. Yes memories forever. If I wanted a picture from the game, I'd bring my camera. These guys showed up at the end of last year and started to come to some Ducks games last year as well. I dont know why anyone participates anymore, but apparently some people do because they are there every game... Sorry had to vent. Last season the Stanley Cup was being brought by some of the Ducks players to an Angels game for the fans to take a picture with. What a joke. I thought that you would be able to look at it and touch it and get your own pic with it. Nope They placed the Cup in front of an extremely ostentacious Angels logo up on a table. Then you couldnt use your camera, they had the FanFoto people take a picture, They gave you a number for your picture and herded you out as fast as possible. You couldnt stop and take your own pic of it on the way out. They actually pushed me out of the way. The Angels got a ton of mail and complaints about that.

But in all my years of attending Angels games, that was my only bad experience.

One of my favorite memories was when David Newhan hit a ball in the gap. Johnny Damon got the ball and threw it in to short. But for what every reason Manny dove to cut if off. The play resulted in an inside the park homerun. I have no idea what Manny was thinking.

I'm sorry, but nothing beats seeing the Rally Monkey pop up up on the Jumbotron, then witnessing a Halos come from behind win ... in person of course. :)

C'mon, you know you're all about that, Bucfan! Plus, it certainty beats that ridiculous Conan O'Brien/moving lips otter at AT&T.
