I know this is what they wore in their past, but their most winning years were achieved wearing their nike jerseys from the late 90's. Their contract with russell ends after this season. Maybe they will do something different then.Agreed. I loved these (home) uniforms (away) that they had in the late 90s/start of the millennium. Maybe it's because I grew up with that style, or maybe it's because it looked better. Maybe it's a combination of both. But it still looks better, especially when they busted out the white helmets during the Independence "Snow" Bowl.Ah. Good times. If anyone knows what it is, feel free to let me know by posting here.Thanksslapshot - I think that "S" shaped logo (a capital "S" inside a circle/oval) on the Southern Miss helmet is the Schutt Sports helmet reconditioning division's logo. I think that only appears when a school has a contract with Schutt to refinish the exterior of the shell, so the logo will also appear on Riddell and Adams helmets that Schutt has repainted during the season. Southern Miss uses as "dazzle" or "pearl" black finish, so they would likely send them out for work a couple of times during the season. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
