njb513
Will the Lions be getting rid of those stupid black facemasks and the black trim on their uniforms?
officeglenn
I've said it before about the Calgary Flames, but I feel the same way about the Lions: I think they need the black. I don't think there's enough contrast between the Honolulu blue, the silver and the white. The black really makes each of those colors pop. Now, I will grant that the black alternate uniform is overkill, but as trim, I think they look better now than before it was added.
Mac the Knife
If they get rid of the black, the silver or blue needs to be tweaked as well because, as Glenn said, there's insufficient contrast there. Personally I'd tweak the silver a little, darkening it somehow to achieve the proper contrast.
TruColor
It should have been Navy all along...not Black.
njb513
It should have been Navy all along...not Black.I'd kind of like to see them go back to the silver numbers on the blue jerseys like they had in the 60s and 70s...i think there is plenty of contrast there
officeglenn
They need to redo everything. Redo logo, uniforms, colors, everything.Roster, too.
Gothamite
It should have been Navy all along...not Black. That would have been better. The problem I had with Millen's overhaul was that they just took a solid uniform scheme and threw a whole lotta black onto it, creating all these busy outlines. demondg1
Might I recommend replacing the black with a dark gunmetal color.
Gary
They need to redo everything. Redo logo, uniforms, colors, everything.Colors I would keep, I would redo everything else. I love the tradition of the colors of Honolulu blue and Silver. Glenn I would keep Williams and Johnson at Wideout, keep Stanton at QB, and Smith at RB, because we could have a great offense with these gentlemen. Ditch everyone else
quantum
Adding black wasn't so much the problem as was how they applied it. I do think that the team should look into an identity change that modernizes their look while keeping it somewhat traditional.
powersurge
Its funny because whenever I see the Carolina Panthers wearing their blue alts and silver pants, I say to myself "Wow... lighter shade of blue, silver, and black DO work...when done CORRECTLY!"Too bad the Lions didn't do it CORRECTLY

MADVILLAIN
It should have been Navy all along...not Black.Never. Too many teams in the NFL have navy in their color scheme. Keep the current colors. Update the unis and Lion logo. Their current logo is just confusing to look at.
Cujo
Lose the black and bring back those Honolulu Blue pants!
DallasSports
They haven't made the playoffs since implementing black, so I hope they find a change necessarry.I was in love with their look before they added so much black trim. 49ers are getting rid of a lot of the black too, aren't they? ColeJ
i'm going to agree with the gunmetal idea.just a really dark silver with light silver and honolulu blue... that would be perfect.

Their current logo is just confusing to look at.Well to be honest, I had wanted Navy in there since the '80s - well before the over-saturation of Navy came to be. But I agree - too much Navy in sports right now. That's another reason why I like the Gunmetal idea...

You still need some contrast.
