The Danimal
I think they're pretty cool. As someone else pointed out, many football teams get by without a wordmark or logo to identify them.It would be interesting to see UNC try this - allow the Carolina blue to "speak for itself" and have nothing but the numbers and maybe a few stripes on the jersey. oddball
How long is it before the official colors of Oregon become Black, yellow, and silver? I know people say black is Oregon State's color (in reality it's just orange), but tell me why Oregon won't go black, yellow, and silver? It really seems like they are phazing out the green completely.the numbers are green, no? either i'm wrong, or you thought oregon was in the black unis...that's oakland u.*bows head in shame* Yes, yes I did. Do you blame me? Everything that the football team runs out there has black, so I just saw the uniforms, and assumed the Oregon had gone black. Yes, I'm the arse! I assumed. Actually seeing the real Oregon uniforms, I'm relieved that they are green.
mfoster
I saw the white on white nameplate and thought immediately of Harold Ballard pulling that crap after the NHL required names on the backs of jerseys. Penny wise and pound foolish, Ballard didn't want to lose any game program sales.
PhilliesPhan1325
They have some more pics on their website.I like the striping on the one side of the shorts. Jerseys- not a fan. I think they'd look really good if it had a normal name on it. "The 0-2 pitch... SWING AND A MISS! STRUCK HIM OUT! THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL!" HeyDingis
I am actually more offended by the single stripe than I am the lack of a visible wordmark.
DrJack
I was at the game in person, and I've seen the jerseys for sale at the book store and I'm pretty sure (like 99.2%) that the sublimated vertical "DUCKS" is only on the replicas, not the authentic things (which is weird in and of itself). nyk
Ok Oregon trying to be different is now officially getting out of hand and Nike needs to stop!
bulldogbarks55
You may want to take a closer look there chief.I'm surprised Nike didn't make the numbers White as well. As a complete package these uniforms are just plain hideous. How soon before other teams start doing the same thing? Nike should be banned from making any more uniforms. Please, Sacred Leader Obama, save us from this Nike scourge!
BJBerthiaume
Oregon's uniforms give me headaches. Every time I see Oregon try and do something that is way out there, it ends up being terrible. I don't like any of the Oregon uniforms in any sport. They've just got to get a regular old jersey because their making a name for themselves by having ugly uniforms. They try to make a name for themselves by having unique uniforms, but they are just plain ugly.
swilson160
I actually like these. Oregon has established that as their font to the point where the jersey is recognizable as Oregon even without the name. Much better than many other jerseys out there--I just wish the football team would switch back to that font.
BBTV
What good is a uniform if it doesn't clearly identify who you play for?I would argue that the uniform absolutely identifies the team that is wearing them. That's the beauty of what Oregon has accomplished. I, for one, love it. Gothamite
I agree. As much as I detest what Nike has done to the football program (and the black version of these uniforms), I think the all-whites are inspired. Armadillo
My first reaction was a hearty, "WTF?" After looking at them for longer than two seconds, I think they're great. Different, very unique, very Oregon. No other team in the NCAA does this, so the argument that you can't identify them goes out the window. I wouldn't like it as much if every team did it, but it seems to work for the Ducks.
eRay
I really wish a wordmark was slapped on there. It would still be a different look with a wordmark, so don't feed me that. These do, however, look good to me. Very simple, no Black or over the top patterns(stripes > feathers + diamond plating), one color numbers, and a kind of old-school inspired look. Although they aren't what comes to mind when I picture a jersey fitting into that criteria, these still technically do. I'm gunna say I like 'em. Know what I'm surprised about? That the numbers are actually pressed on rather than sewn (unless they were for the actual game-worns...can't really tell from the game photos.)And...for all the flak that Duck U has caught over its designs (some rightfully so), I don't really see why using silver for that sublimated wordmark wouldn't have hurt with this particular jersey. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
bohob
You may want to take a closer look there chief.Stacked type is a terrible idea, just rotate the wordmark 90 degrees. Other then that I can live with it. I just wish the football uni's used those numerals.
