Yeah, now that I actually see it in action, Ohio State's Pro Combat looks terrible, and this is coming from someone who thinks the only other bad Pro Combat was Virginia Tech's all-black.

I didn't care for it either. The number font looks like it belongs on a Camaro at the local dirt track, the red helmets (I won't even dignify them by calling them scarlet) are out of place and the gray socks with the gray pants just looked wrong. Yes, it's based on what they used to wear. There's a reason they don't wear it anymore.

What made Ohio State's uniforms look really bad was it was against Michigan. You want to see tradition in rivalry games, especially a game such as Ohio State-Michigan. What's next, is Nike going to come up with new fight songs for Ohio State and Michigan?

Boise State: black/black/black (Pro Combats)

James Madison: white/white/white with stripes

East Carolina: maroon/maroon/white no stripes

Boston College: maroon/white/white with stripes

NC State: maroon/white/white with stripes

Central Michigan: white/maroon/white no stripes

Wake Forest: maroon/maroon/white no stripes

Duke: maroon/maroon/white no stripes

Georgia Tech: maroon/maroon/white no stripes

UNC: maroon/white/white with stripes

Miami: white/white/white with stripes

Virginia: maroon/maroon/white no stripes

So they only wear maroon jerseys with stripeless pants and white jerseys with striped pants.

Just like to point out the fact that through the regular season, Florida State ONLY wore their gold pants. I was hoping they would break out the all-garnet at some point, but didn't happen. Kind of odd in this age of uniform madness.

yeah there was no way they were doing any pro combat stuff this year. I didn't think he would go as far as only wearing gold pants. It's been a LONG time since that happened. I don't mind it though, as least there were no blackouts this year.

Michigan ruined that to begin with with their stupid Adidas tentacles template they were wearing.

Though I will say I was disappointed by Ohio State's Pro Combats. I actually really liked them in the photos, but on the field, they looked pretty bad. The pants didn't look quite right, and I think that was the main issue. I liked the numbers though.

I really don't mind these too much. I would never suggest that Ohio State adopt them, but a school like New Mexico could add a fix here and there and turn these something worth while.

A little Devil's advocate here...is green an official color of ND or is it navy/gold? You don't see green on the home or away set, yet you have a green alternate. People love the green and the look, yet if it's not on their current set (or maybe an official color, because I don't know) why is this acceptable, but black isn't when teams do it? Just curious. I think it looks good and fits the "Irish" nickname.

The original official colors of ND were Madonna Blue (similar to the Detroit Lions' blue) and Papal Gold, but they've never used them for athletics (Faust tried and failed). They now use navy and gold for everything academic, but I'm not sure whether they officially changed the school colors. So to answer your question, no, green is not an "official" color, but it is a traditional color, as they've used it for at least 80 years.

In regards to my reply, its part of there logo sheet/style guide, thats why I consider it an official color.

I tried to be as accurate as possible even though most people interchange the terms. "Pro Combat" is the material. "Rivalry" is the design. Every uniform TCU wore this season was Nike Pro Combat. They wore 2010 Nike Pro Combat Rivalry uniforms vs. OSU and then mixed and matched some 2010 and 2009 rivalry stuff in with their new pro combat uniforms. The new home uniforms are the same template as the 2009 rivalry uniforms minus the the frogskin trim and with slightly different color-blocking on the away uniforms.
