Why the hate for the Canucks?

#1 Because of the horrible number font.

#2 Because of the over designed sweater with Vancouver over the C-whale.

#3 Because of the use of the C-whale.

#4 Because of the desire and love of Canuck fans for two bad logos in the C-rink and Johnny Canuck logos.

I personally dislike the Canucks for a few reasons. The first and most important reason is because they have the strongest shot of ending the Stanley Cup hopes of my favorite team. That's been the thought all season, Vancouver is the biggest threat to the Sharks and barring a collapse of epic proportions, it's going to come full circle. There are other minor reasons, but none compare to the first one, really.

I would understand if they knocked out your favorite team in the past, but I thinking hating a team just because of their uniforms is a bull :censored: reason to hate a team.

Why do people hate the Canucks so much? I get Laker hate, I get Cowboy hate, I get Patriot hate, I get Yankee and Red Sox hate. Even Montreal Canadiens hate I get. But why Vancouver?

Notwithstanding this year when they led the league in even-strength, power play, and penalty kills, the Canucks are also seen as league leaders in flopping, whining, cheap shots, ref-lobbying, and false entitlement, all of which--despite yielding reliable dividends for them each year--are antithetical to Hard-Nosed Old Time Real Canadian Hockey. Also, the nouveau-riche snobbiness of Vancouver, itself not exactly a Hard-Nosed Old Time Real Canadian City, vis-a-vis the rest of Canada seems offputting to many. That the Canucks aren't exactly engendering Canada with Bring-The-Cup-Home Fever hasn't surprised me at all.

Also Luongo bugs me. As a goalie, his constant acting and embellishment is embarrassing. Roloson has a little of that in him too but no one is as bad as Luongo. I do enjoy the fans saying his name every time a shot is blocked by the defense or goes wide though. :rolleyes:

I hate the Canucks because:

1. Their fans are complete asses. They act like they are better than everyone else and they whine all the damn time.

2. The team whines, dives, and I hate Luongo.

3. Their logos suck, and there jerseys are not much better. The orca whale isn't bad, but Johnny Canuck is crap and the stick in rick is boring a :censored:!!

My friends and I were having this discussion last weekend as to why there is little love for the Canucks. One of them was a Flames fan, so his was obvious, but the one main reason that we all agreed on is that outside of most of you on here and exactly one other person on my Facebook, every Canucks we know are total a-holes about it. While the Leafs and Canadiens each have there fair share of knowledgable realistic fans and total a-hole "in your face" fans, we all combined could only think like two Canucks fans total who we knew weren't totally arrogant a-holes, which we found remarkable for team that's won nothing important. I remember getting into an argument with a few Canucks fans in 2007 who thought I was a moron because I thought the Ducks could have possibly beat them in the playoffs (which they did) and would never stop bringing up some regular season game from like 2001 where Vancouver pounded the Ducks like 8-1 or something as the greatest game ever.

I could probably look past that if not for the fact that they abandoned what was, IMO, their best uniform set ever (and would gladly buy if I could still find one) with the double blue/red/silver orca period by returning to, what The Hockey News also described as in their Greatest Jerseys of All-Time magazine, a boring and dull uniform set that for some reason now has VANCOUVER on the front (even on the home jersey, which I find stupid) of them with a muted orca logo along with a return of the ridiculously ambiguous "stick-in-rink" logo and features probably one of the ugliest name and number fonts in the NHL. Admittedly, I think the 40th Anniversary throwback is actually quite nice even in spite of the stick-in-rink logo and, if I could, I'd probably buy one, and I think the Johnny Canuck in V logo is nicely done too, but the rest of the uniforms are dull as hell (though I will admit that I don't think they're as bad as they were four years ago when they debuted).

That's my reason. Though there are still several teams in the NHL I would rather see the Canucks win the Stanley Cup before, unfortunately, except for Detroit, none of them are still in the Playoffs.

1)Seriously? It was only a headshot because Hansen was bent over at the waist. Rob Niedermayer hit him from the side, kept his arms down, and Hansen was down by his elbow... Still Luongo shouldn't have been trying to point out a penalty or offside or whatever the hell he thought it was. It's Double OT in the playoffs, pay attention to you. This was also the game that Danny Sabourin started the first OT because Luongo was stuck in the bathroom. Like really?... And the Ducks were winning that series anyway.

2) From my watching experience, Dwayne Roloson must have the loosest mask in the NHL.

I like Roloson. He's an old guy who's not calling it quits. It's the same reason so many people liked Bret Farve near the end. The difference is that Roloson still has something left in him, and he hasn't fake retired three times.

I dont have a problem with Roloson per say, I just hate how if you breathe on him he acts like he gets shot.

I for one do not hate the Canucks and Im a big Wild fan, crazy right? After the Olympics I was tired of hearing about the city of Vancouver though.

Eh, he over-exaggerates, this is true. As a goalie myself, though, it's nice to see one play with the minds of the guys who are constantly trying to jam a puck loose from under his pad or glove :hockeysmiley:
