xjUicebOx
Here is a concept that I have been working on for the past couple of days. I couldn't think of a team name so I just used Western New York for now. I'm also not sold on the color scheme but I wanted to get it posted up for a little feed back.. ninersdd
Not bad. It kinda looks like the gorilla is crying, so maybe fix that a little. Also, maybe make the y look more like a y. BEAR DOWN ARIZONA!2013/14 Tanks Picks Champion
DL Watt
I think this can have alot of promise. Like ninersdd said, he looks like one sad gorilla with tears streaming down his face.
The Fixer
and the N look like an N and not a h. But great start. looks great
Rayman
agreed with ^above when i first saw it i thought it said "why"
missouri tigers
Nice start!I love the treatment on the WNY script. It's very sharp. The main issue you need to address as others have said, is the eyes.
walkerws
I think if you give him pupils, the crying "effect" will go away. You may want ot make his lower jaw more agressive as well.
Buster
After I realized it did NOT say "Why", I wondered why the gorilla is crying. It looks like there are tears running down his face. Even making them gray might brighten his day. The gorilla himself is solid...great execution of his body and head.
xjUicebOx
heres an update, I added some color and tried fixing the issues with the eyes and the 'n'
Hoops McCann
Don't think the blue helps the eyes... they still need some work (they now have blue tears). Also, the original WNU wordmark gives you the opportunity to make a logo-detail that is identical when you rotate 180-degrees (with some minor modification)... I love details like that
sparkychewbarky
juice, he'd actually look pretty good if those blue-green parts were his cheeks (by making them grey). The black area above them would then become his eyes. *The Battle of Seattle
Brave-Bird 08
Give it a keyline of some color and fix the eyes just a little bit. Also, the script area is a little redundant. Gorillas might work, haha. Maybe Apes?
Midway
If the teal cheeks were grey just like the rest of its face, that'd probably fix the crying effect. I can see red working as well. The Y still needs the bottom part flipped to make it look more like said letter. Nice concept!
Rayman
maybe you still could have had a smaller ascender on the "n" instead of getting rid of it totally. having it not as big wouldnt make it look like a "h" anymoreabout people saying to change the "y", dont do it. it's perfect the way it is.the only criticism i would say is to change the cheeks grey, the blue still reads to me as a watery tear drop instead. TylerBray8
Im not a big logo guy...but I think you should just redo the eye. I kinda see what's supposed to be going on with it but then again I see the sad gorilla thing. Its just confusing to the eye & that's not what you want with your logo. Try slimming down the eye...I that could give it that fierce look that you want from your logo.
walkerws
TB8, I agree. It's a small thing and it'll really bring this forward. You may also have to redo the entire face ore redo the cheeks.
DeadFish
A tweak I think you should try. You have the shadow that runs down the face and over the jaw currently lining up. Try shifting the shadow on the jaw left a bit making the jaw appear to jut forward. I think it will give him some extra depth and make the logo even cooler. Hope it works. FGWB
looks like a gorilla mated with a gecko. could you get the eyes closer together or something?

xjUicebOx
Hows this? I switched over to reds rather than teal, added pupils, and the accent on the 'N' is smaller than the original
