I thought about doing a project like this myself, so here's some tips you might find useful:-Research what states don't have a "State" university. I know Maryland, Wisconsin, Nevada, Nebraska, Wyoming and New Jersey off the top of my head, so right there you could have a Maryland State, Wisconsin State, New Jersey State, etc. In fact, there's not even a University of New Jersey, so you can have an instant UNJ/NJSU rivalry.-Since this is mainly based on football concepts, try to avoid cities that already have NFL teams since college teams that play in NFL markets usually struggle to draw. If anything, put them in a smaller town that's some miles away from the NFL stadium. Take Michigan for example... they play in Detroit's media market, but Ann Arbor is its own town with its own identity. The only exception is if the NFL team plays a decent drive away from its "host city," which is the case with places like Dallas, Phoenix and Milwaukee.-Don't just randomly decide on whatever nickname and colors you think might look or sound cool. So ill try to borrow, and at least alter the loo enough so it doesnt just look like a lazy rip-off.-Research what states don't have a "State" university.
