That whole final stretch of the race can be described as

I%20have%20no%20idea%20what%20I%20m%20doing%20thread%20_06af9676f192d84f17cf5a5816dc7523.jpg

Between the way they were throwing/not throwing cautions, the grand idea of having everyone race through Danica's oil on turn 4, the whole Gordon-Bowyer situation. Just absolute mayhem there at the end. Happy that Harvick got the win, but I feel like it could've been under much better terms than "hey, let's just race to the checkered flag so we don't have another restart and probably another fight!"

Bumping:

Logano is on pole, Kes will start 3rd, Jimmie will start 10th.

Also, another blow to RCR.

Via Jayski:

When #29-Kevin Harvick leaves Richard Childress Racing at the end of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, he will take major sponsors Budweiser and Jimmy Johns along with him. Reports surfaced last week that Harvick will bolt RCR at the conclusion of his current contract to race full-time for Stewart Haas Racing in 2014. Multiple sources speaking on the condition of anonymity say that when the move comes, it will also include the sponsors that backed the #29 team in a combined 26 races this season; 20 for Budweiser and six for Jimmy John's

Some changes to NASCAR in 2013:

• The 2013 car will have more brand identity for manufacturers with the vehicle looking more like those on the showroom floor.

• NASCAR is addressing changes in the car to improve competition as far as more passing and tighter racing.

• The driver's last name will be placed on the windshield so fans can better identify their driver in an era when paint schemes change frequently.

• Sponsor logos will be allowed on the roof for more exposure from television.

• The average age for drivers in the Truck Series will be dropped from 18 to 16 for road courses and any tracks 1.1 mile or less.

• A digital cockpit is coming in 2014 that will offer new social media possibilities.

The third and fourth bullets are :censored: ing ridiculous.

Agreed, the 3rd & 4th are ridiculous. The rest I like seeing. I like that NASCAR is taking things into consideration to makes things better, although, bullet one should've happened long ago (I hate 5th Gen). Now the next thing that may happen could be another manufacture coming in (Dodge hopefully coming back with Honda showing up.)

Well we got two champs crowned. James Buscher in CWTS & Ricky Stenhouse Jr. repeats in Nationwide. Now Sunday comes & it'll either be Bad Brad or Mr. 5 time will become 6-pack. May the better driver win.

Good for Penske on finally getting that first NASCAR Sprint Cup championship. I'm lukewarm on Brad but he did do a great job all year and is a well deserved champion. Also great to see some new blood at the top.. it's been since 2004 since we saw someone besides Johnson or Stewart win the championship

Once again, the season started slow but the finish was impressive. Jimmie was a threat until the lugnut penalty & then the car shutting down. Either way, its a great way for Dodge to ride off into the sunset, Penske finally gets a Sprint Cup Championship & Brad joins amongst the many champions in this sport. Congrats Brad, let's see what you can do in a Ford next year.

Next week also debuts Chevrolet's S.S. as well.

It's a real shame Dodge is leaving NASCAR, because it would've been awesome to see this on the track next season.

Chevy finally released their 2013 Cup racer, the SS. Here's a shot of a few new paint schemes for next year, also showing the new driver name placement on top of the windshield (which I kinda like, reminds me of the old IROC series).

I kept saying that Ford had the best design so far.... Then Chevy showed up.... :oh:

Damn, I really want to see the street version come February, I want one. Well done Chevrolet.

Also, expect some changes in CWTS as well come 2014. It looks like they'll be going the way of Sprint Cup & Nationwide.

via Jayski:

NCWTS series director Wayne Auton said on Tuesday's edition of SIRIUS/NASCAR Radio's "The Morning Drive" the sanctioning body was working with current truck manufacturers to possibly incorporate an updated look to the trucks in time for 2014. The move would follow similar updates in both the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series to give NASCAR vehicles more identity for fans to have better brand recognition with each manufacturer.
