The_Admiral
Okay, look, I love ripping on Tim Tebow as much as the next guy, but don't tell me he can't hack it in a league where Henry Burris is an all-time great. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
FiddySicks
He can't hack it in the CFL. He'd end up missing whatever he was swinging at by five feet. Sodboy13
Yeah, problem with the CFL is, it's even more pass-oriented than the NFL, and Timmy still hasn't mastered that throwing-the-football thing. As for problems specific to Tebow, Montreal owns his rights, and they currently have Anthony Calvillo, one of the top passers in league history who's probably got 1 or 2 more years in him. If Tebow bolted for Canada, he'd likely find himself 3rd on the depth chart behind Calvillo and Adrian McPherson, unless he was willing to give up his quarterback fantasy and switch to something like slotback full-time.Tebow's best options are probably to either stay on the Jets, hope the UFL somehow resurrects itself out of $300 million in debt, or go tour the Filipino circumcision circuit. If he's truly desperate, I guess there's always the Jaguars. Kevin W.
So at what point can Tebow and Sanchez be called draft busts? Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions) King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)
NEW.ERA
I don't know what happened to Sanchez. First two years, competitive, were actually within striking distance of a Super Bowl. Then the bottom falls out, he wasn't a great QB, but he was serviceable.Tebow is a draft bust, purely on the fact he was a first round pick. It's not like he's had a full season of total suck. Cujo
So at what point can Tebow and Sanchez be called draft busts?Sanchez has been considered a bust for at least a full season now. The game I point to which he was exposed was the Thursday Night game that New York lost in the final seconds to Tim Tebow's Broncos, in a game New York easily wins if not for Sanchez's complete and total incompetence. As for Tebow, I will never consider him a "draft bust" because he had no business being drafter higher than the mid-2nd round. Josh McDaniels was drunk on power, among other substances, and took Tebow a good thirty picks too soon. He should never have become a Bronco. The Jets (especially their defense) were on such a roll, they were able to go deep into January so long as Sanchez was playing mistake-free football, which he did. The Jets could still be a playoff team if they had a quarterback who wasn't commiting 3-4-5 turnovers a game. How Sanchez wasn't benched for his brutal performance following the "Buttfumble Game" is way beyond me.

It's not like he's had a full season of total suck.I'm pretty sure Sodboy's question was facetious, considering both players have been busts almost since their inceptions into the NFL, but I could be wrong. The writing was on the wall for Sanchez from day 1. After he had that initial moderate-to-decent first crack at things, he crumpled after the mantle of leadership was firmly placed upon him. He's not a natural leader at all and he's one of those damned players who needs to be cradled and coddled every single step of the way, because he doesn't have the drive to educate himself from his mistakes. Sanchez is undevelopable, if there is such a word. Watch him on Hard Knocks, it's painful. His coaches keep trying to figure out the right words to make him wake up, but it's a lost cause.Tebow has never been a good quarterback. He's got the drive and will that you'd want in every QB, but as a pro talent he simply doesn't translate to the pro game. There's only one team that would ever tolerate him and that's Jacksonville, and that would be more because those people are idiots who get drunk on gator lore. There is no passion. No raw emotion. Just emptiness. Football is just a job to him. After every interception or mistake, Sanchez acts dumb to it -- as if he doesn't even know that he just messed over his team. As long as he's still being handed the starting job and getting a paycheck, what does he care, right?
FiddySicks
I'd say that while Sanchez wasn't a great quarterback before this season, I feel that part of his apathy this season comes from having to deal with the Tebow nonsense. Not saying that's a valid excuse to just stop trying, but it's at least an explanation. Just look at his face when he's on the sidelines. He looks completely sick of being a Jet, and I assume that it stems from, at least in part, because of the ridiculousness of the Jets trading for Tebow in the first place. He reminds me of Travarias Jackson after the Vikings ended up getting Favre. Is it a lock that Sanchez would've had a better season if Tebow would've went elsewhere? No, absolutely not. But I get the feeling he would have at least had a better focus.I wanna say that Sanchez would do better on another team, but he's shown to have some pretty serious personality flaws (At least for an NFL QB) that makes me think he'd probably cruble just as bad the minute he faced any more adversity, just as he did here.Either way, I think that there's gotta be someone (Not the Jets, that ship has sailed) who needs to give Sanchez a shot for at least one more season before he's dropped like an old candy bar wrapper. Hell, if Alex Smith can get seven seasons to prove himself, Sanchez probably should get at least one more.Speaking of that, anyone got any good ideas on who the Jets should bring in next season to play quarterback? They're still not a terrible team despite the insanity of this season. If they brought in a solid veteran they could still be pretty competitive IMO.Tebow on the other hand, should have never made it out of an NFL training camp in the first place. Funky Bunky
The Jets should trade both of their QBs to the Cardinals for their 1st-round draft pick.Cards fan saying hell no. We don't need 5 terrible Qb's, and that high first rounded can get us a good lineman.
