There's no way Rex Ryan makes it through this season....not at this rate.

I still wish the Chargers hired him instead of The Crappy Coach Who Shall Not Be Named.

Yeah, we know Norv is mediocre -- but the Chargers are currently 3-2 and alone atop their divison. Chill. (for now)

You go out of your way to bring up the Chargers head coach. It's tiresome.

Lights Out's brain scan the day Norv is fired.

I'm waiting for the day Lights Out has to explain away a Chargers Superbowl as being inspite of Turner!

@ Lights Out...yeah, I agree about Norv, but who's the D coordinator out there? When I watched the game again, saw this on Brees' record setting touchdown. He threw of course to Henderson (19) as Jammer suffered an "Oh, s***!" moment but could have just as well gone to Camarillo (17), who is as surprised as anyone at the 15-yard personal circle the Chargers afforded him. SD blitzed but good grief. Camarillo could have enjoyed a refreshing beverage and perused USA Today before sauntering downfield into the end zone. That's a serious hole in the secondary.

The worst loss in Chargers history was letting Drew Brees go.

Yes and no. This is a great illustration of something I'm surprised isn't conventional wisdom. Brees to the Saints is the free agent version of "one man's trash is another man's treasure," but I'd argue Brees wouldn't be the same player had he stayed in SD. His collaboration with Payton and the excellent set of unselfish skill players on the Saints' offense are as responsible for Brees' success as Drew himself. Think back to Steve Young. Is he a HOF'er if he stays in Tampa Bay? No way. It's never just the player, as proven by how many big money free agents vanish once they go to another team that doesn't have as a good a supporting cast in terms of other players, coaches, and even the organization itself.

Brees would be nowhere near the QB he is now if he had stayed in San Diego. Hell, LO would be bitching about both Brees and Turner if he did. The obsession is quite scary really.

That's something that I really wonder about, but you're probably right. If the Chargers had traded Phillip Rivers to the Saints, would he have had as much success as Brees has had? Who knows?

I do think the Philip Rivers vs. Drew Brees comparisons are insanely unfair.

The Chargers missed Brees so much in 2006 that they won 14 games, before doing their usual Schotty choke job. Rivers has shown himself to be an excellent QB in his own right over the years, and just as tough a bastard as Brees is. Difference, of course, being the Brees was playing on a team with an immeasurably better coaching staff than Rivers has ever played for.

Jesus guys. So LO said that he wished the Chargers had hired Ryan instead of Norv Turner. What exactly is wrong with that? Give the kid a break.

Also, stop stealing my act, BlueSky. Using visual aids to illustrate LO's state of mind was my idea. B)

I guess I broke the "unwritten rules" of Sports in General.

1. If you praise your favorite team, you're a homer

2. If you criticize your favorite team, you're a whiny fairweather fan

3. If you praise another team, you're a bandwagoner

4. If you criticize another team, you're a hater

I'm just wondering what we're allowed to talk about in here.

You could try being less of a pessimistic douche. That act's become stale.

The Yankees win a game, you proclaim, "Welp, baseball season is over. Time for basketball season.". The Chargers have an early two-touchdown lead in the first quarter, you reply, "Plenty of time for the Chargers to blow it! Fire Norv!".

For some reason, you love to over-react. About anything.
