Bears fans may recall nearly losing Warrick Holdman, a decent starting LB at the time, because of a "clerical error." Then again this is Jerry Angelo we're talking about here.

Didn't the Bears also lose the season ticket holder waiting list due to a fire in the early 1980s?

Agent screws up, and thus Elvis Dumervil is a free agent.

Why are people still using fax machines in this day and age? Its like the office version of the payphone. I know they still make them and people still use them. I just don't know who they are or why.

It has to do with signatures on facsimiles being legally binding.

All I know is I've sent in notarized documents via e-mail and my office just got rid of theirs two months ago.

Its not 1993 anymore. There's nothing a fax machine can do that a .pdf can't do. All it does is show proof that the physical document exists. What is the difference between the two? And if it actually a law then it is a dumbass law.

Detroit re-signs Louis Delmas to a 2-year deal.

When Glover Quin signed, I assumed Delmas was gone, which I wasn't thrilled with but understood and could live with. Now that he's coming back, I'm thrilled. IF he can stay on the field for a full season, the Lions secondary, dare I say it, might actually be respectable for the first time in a long while.

Faxes aren't encoded in a proprietary format?

Looks like Greg Jennings to Vikings.

Why would he leave a first class organization with a great QB and skip out on Super Bowls in favor of this circus?

Serious question concerning the Rams, how will they score this season?

Zuerlein kicks 80+ yard field goals, INT returns from the secondary, and hopefully Tavon Austin will be available in the draft.

Opportunity. He would've been no longer the guy in Green Bay, plus he took a pay cut. Great character guy and consistent. Ponder needed a reliable guy and he's getting one in Greg.

Colts owner Jim Irsay is kind of going nuts. He's quoting The Big Lebowski and cooking up a trade for a WR.

https://twitter.com/...148934367350784

Also while I'm here, can anyone explain just what the Rams are trying to do? I feel like they are in NFL limbo where they don't get any better while marginally getting worse ever so slightly. Signing Cook got them some headlines and will help some, they retained Hayes, and Jake Long could be a big payoff if he does sign, but I thought the problem with this team was receivers?

They lost a solid safety in Dahl, a fan favorite in Jackson, their best WR in Amendola, etc. I understand the mentality of parting ways with names in an effort to balance the financial burden, but it feels like this offseason has been one step forward and two steps back.

Rams fan thoughts?

I do wonder who Irsay is trying to get. Any ideas what "big name" receiver could be on the trading block?

Victor Cruz comes to mind.

It is. The problem is that Fisher isn't a big offense guy, and doesn't necessarily shell out for the same, even when you pay your QB as much as the Rams pay Bradford.

They lost a solid safety in Dahl,

*Archimedes laughing* Everyone and their dog in the fanbase wanted Dahl gone after the last two seasons. He was an absolute liability in the secondary.

a fan favorite in Jackson,

Jackson made the call to void the contract-and that was primarily because he wanted a shot to win a championship (which itself could be an indictment of the Rams, but I digress)

(their best WR in Amendola, etc.)

He's useful for Bradford, but it's stupid to break the bank for a plywood hobbit who plays slot. Best receiver in this case is really more like "tallest midget".

I understand the mentality of parting ways with names in an effort to balance the financial burden, but it feels like this offseason has been one step forward and two steps back.

Oh I do feel the team is adding holes, rather than fully plugging them, or trying to tread water when 2 of the Division mates go into an arms race. I have two darker suspicions (but no proof to back them up). 1) The Rams are back in "sabotage attendance mode" for the purposes of moving to L.A. and 2) Fisher's already given up on Bradford and is not really going to do anything with the offense until Bradford's contract is burned down to a point where it ceases to be untradeable.

You'd think that if ANYTHING were to be learned from last time, ex Packers would know to stay the hell away from Minneapolis when they leave Green Bay; and the Vikings front office would know to stay the hell away from Packers castoffs.

Rams officially sign Jake Long to a 4 year deal laden with incentives worth up to $36 million.
