BBTV
I simply cannot understand being considered a first round pick and not declaring for the draft. Even if you're middle of the pack and think you can be top 5, you still should come out. It's just too risky. Besides injuries, you could just suck. I never saw Matt Barkley play in college, but everyone said he was great and a top pick. All I know is he ended up being drafted in the 3rd or 4th round by the Eagles, where all he'll ever do is hold a clipboard and model sideline caps. BigEd76
Barkley thought USC was gonna be great if he went back, he'd win the Heisman, and he'd go #1 in 2013 instead of being no better than #3 behind Luck and RGIII in 2012........then the team wasn't that good and he injured his shoulder
BBTV
Which is why it's stupid to go back to school. Being no better than #3 isn't bad! Risk / reward. The risks far outweigh the rewards in most cases. Now if you're a projected 3rd rounder who knows that the team around him will be much better the next season and therefore make him look better and the rest of the position is weak the next season then it's probably worth gambling. BBTV
Chip Kelly named Foles the starting QB going in to next season. First real endorsement he's ever given him. Up until this I really think there was a chance they'd move him and draft another QB. Maybe the guy chip wants isn't out there this year.
