College Gameday had a sign up by an FSU fan that said "THIS IS OUR LOGO"... im sure most of them are none too happy with the redesign of the jerseys as well....h long until they try to get the old jerseys back..or at least garnet numbers ?

Indiana's new "I" helmet looks great. Reminds me of their 90s helmets. Very clean and just looks better than the awkward "IU" trident logo. Hopefully it's the full time helmet.

The facemask on the FSU helmet looks more like purple than it does garnet. The shade of gold is way too light.

How is Marshall allowed to wear those numbers? I thought those were banned. College football does a really poor job of enforcing the uniform restrictions they put in place.

The rule is a little confusing - gradient numbers are allowed on jerseys as long as all of the colors of the gradients contrast with the jersey color. UofA will still wear gradient numbers on the white jerseys, but they can't wear them on blue or red jerseys because the gradient colors were blue and red.

they should just go Ga Tech style and have two different white jerseys...white and garnet...or at least did what Oklahoma did and just designate games for the traditional jerseys and others for the new ones. Liking that idea more and more as the game goes on

The logo is an upgrade so I don't get them not being happy. I will agree that the numbers should be garnet though. As far as the white pants are concerned...eww. I'm sure they will be worn very few times and I expect gold to be the go to. I hope.

My glasses may be a bit old, but that is definitely gold. It's a brighter shade I'll give you that, but it is gold. That yellow the Lakers are trying pass as gold ain't gold, but that's neither here nor there.

Hmm. I didn't know that. I'd assume that ASU will be keeping the numbers on their alt jerseys too, then. I've been hankering to pick up a black alt, but have been hesitant to do so because of the possible change.

I saw that too. In a sense, the older logo was better because of the history behind it and it's longevity. But on the other hand, across the board uses of the logo was incredibly varied. At one time, the logo on the field was different than the one on the uniforms, and then different than the ones on apparel in the stands. It's a bit of a Catch 22, logo style.

On the uniforms, they could've done without the pattern on the collars. It's a bit much. Gold numbers look weird, too. Fix those two, and it's a great set.(Provided they wear gold pants for the remainder of the season, which is possible)

Uniforms have all decreased in aesthetics as soon as they introduced these fabric advances...across all sports

Watching them on TV, I thought they were Georgia Tech the first 2 times I changed to the channel they're playing on. And then when they zoom in I get to see their ugly Christmas sweater pattern being the only thing standing out from an overall bland look.

Speaking of this game, I've been a tentative fan of Oklahoma State's recent makeover the past few years. I think the orange and grey on black has so much potential, and I especially like the striping they've been doing. I think some iterations are hits and some are misses (tonight's a bit on the miss side, with the silver numbers probably needing to be orange and the orange on the uniforms being more red than the helmet logo's orange and the matte obviously being too trendy), but once they get this identity figured out like Maryland, I think they're going to join them as being among the sharpest of the modern looks.

EDIT: While searching for OK State's old unis, I found this awesome tool they have on their site. It lets you choose from 8 helmets, 4 jerseys, and 4 pants, and that sort of Nike attitude towards mixing and matching is preventing a lot of schools from forging new identities. Someone can do the math for how many possible uniforms those elements can create, but the team can only create an identity once it nails down its best 2 or 3
