You don't need a superstar to win a championship.

Tim Duncan is a superstar. Parker also has a case as one. Even the '04 Pistons, who were the last team to be held up as "proof" that superstars aren't necessary to win titles, had Ben Wallace (a defensive superstar in his prime).

Winning rings in the NBA still pretty much always requires superstars, talent and sacrifice.

Tim Duncan is almost 40 & a shell of himself. He's not a top 5 player anymore. By superstar I mean LeBron, Durant, Paul, etc.

So... by your definition Al Jefferson is a Top 5 player in the league?

PJ Hairston was back in the ghetto known as Durham over the weekend. He was once again hanging out with "Fats", the convicted felon drug runner who's rental PJ was busted in last year. Then while playing pick up basketball at a Durham rec center PJ punched a high school student, who is pressing charges.

Glad to see PJ has gotten his act together. SMH

Gordon Hayward just signed a "huge" offer sheet with the Charlotte Hornets, per team beat writer Rick Bonnell.

Oh come off it man, this isn't even good enough for foreplay.

Utah will make themselves look like the most incompetent franchise in the NBA very soon in one of two ways.

A-

They will have let their 3 best players (Jefferson, Millsap, Hayward) all walk away in free agency for absolutely nothing in return in a 12 month span.

B-

They will pay Hayward around $15mil more than his agent originally asked them to give for an extension.

Hayward has agreed to sign a max $63m offer sheet from the Hornets. Jazz have three days to match or counter, but looks like he's gonna be a Hornet:

Glad to see Cho/MJ filling atleast a few needs with GH. Charlotte needed an outside scorer. Now all that needs to be addressed is if Cody Zeller can fill the shoes McBob left behind.

Hearing that the Jazz have matched and Hayward will decline and join Hornets.

I don't think he can decline, RE: Eric Gordon.

Where does it suggest Utah is letting him walk?

He can't even sign the offer sheet until 12:01AM, therefore you heard wrong.

Plus if the Jazz match, then they retain him, period. If Utah matches, they can’t trade Hayward without his consent for a year, and they can’t trade him to Charlotte in that span.

Interesting. I was reading through tweets/reddit that he could decline but that makes sense.

They are incompetent if they match $63mil now. Cho called their bluff.

Hayward was willing to sign with Utah for $52mil but Utah wouldn't budge from their $48mil offer. They were being so tight that they wouldn't pony up $4mil extra to sign him but now they're gonna throw an extra $15mil at him?

Not to mention they just drafted Exum & Hood, as well as signed Novak. They also have Burke & Burks from their last draft. How many wings do they need? Can they really afford to pay Hayward that much when they have invested so much in that position & have deals coming up for Kanter & Favors?

Their GM screwed up. He thought he could play hardball & get Hayward even cheaper. There were other rumors that Utah would sign Hayward & trade him during the season or next summer. Cho structured the offer so that Hayward cannot be traded for 2 years, & if he is traded it accelerates his cap hit from $15mil to $18mil. Hayward is now gonna make the maximum & will be untradeable.

Another thing to consider is what if Hayward's agent tells Utah to work out a S&T with Charlotte or let Gordon walk because he does not want to be in Utah. That if they match & force him to stay he will only sign a qualifying offer & will leave as a unrestricted free agent next summer.

Utah can say whatever they want, at the end of the day the fuxked themselves over. Again.

Irving/Love/LeBron is nowhere near as good as Wade/Bosh/LeBron.

Love is a rebounding machine

Irving and lebron have great chemistry together as evidence from the all star game

And the you have all the young talent around them, and veterans like varajo, and Allen and miller could be coming with him too, the team will practically be unstoppable

Irving isn't even a top 10 PG. He's the most overrated player in the league. Wade is an all-time great & played phenomenally during their title runs.

Love is overrated. He's never made his team better. His scoring is inflated due to taking so many shots on a bad team. Yes he's a great rebounder but he is absolutely terrible defensively. Bosh is a great player.

They aren't gonna have all those great going assets when they trade them all away for Love.
