1998 Dallas Cowboys

1999 Dallas Cowboys

2000 Dallas Cowboys

2001 Dallas Cowboys

2002 Dallas Cowboys

2003 Dallas Cowboys

2004 Dallas Cowboys

2005 Dallas Cowboys

2007 Dallas Cowboys

2008 Dallas Cowboys

2009 Dallas Cowboys

2010 Dallas Cowboys

2011 Dallas Cowboys

2012 Dallas Cowboys

2013 Dallas Cowboys

Every summer they anoint Dallas, yet every fall Dallas fails to defend their summer crown. Such one hit wonders.

Atlanta Braves

14 straight division titles yet only 1 World Series ring

Even the crappy Marlins are able to grab 2 World Series titles out of that division.

One hit WONDERS. The Braves aren't a one hit wonder, they are a thirteen hit wonder as to how they didn't win more than one.

The 1991 Detroit Lions was the first and only Lions team ever to win a playoff game. They had losing records each of the seven season previous (1984-90) and went 5-11 the next year.

However DET still made the playoffs in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1997. '97 was the first year under Bobby Ross, so we can go back and mock Wayne Fontes, but he got the team to "The Tournament" four times in his final six seasons, with average or less QBs (Erik Kramer/Scott Mitchell/Dave Krieg/Don Majkowski/Frank Reich) throwing some decent or better WRs.

They should have own the 1993 Wildcard game with the deep pass to Sharpe, and while Barry ran for -1 yards in the 1994 game in Lambeau, they only lost that 16-12 with only 171 net yards.

The Lions also won league championships in 1935, '52, '53, and '57...which alone refutes that bonded part. How did you of all people neglect to call him on that?

You slippin', fam. :P

1960 Eagles

Hadn't done much after their 1948/1949 titles and really never got going again until the Miracle at the Meadowlands

Between 1956-1965, they were the only NFL Eastern Division champion not named Cleveland or the NY Giants

2011 Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks won 6 Division titles in seven seasons, won back-to-back President's Trophies, had two different league scoring champions in consecutive years, and one Hart Trophy winner. Hardly a one hit wonder.

Someone mentioned them earlier, but the '96 Florida Panthers are the definition of a one-hit wonder. They have made the playoffs 4 times since then (one of those seasons had them lead the league in ties, another had them lead the league in loser points), and have won a total of 6 playoff games, exactly half of the number of wins they had in the '96 postseason.

Another great example is the Jets/Thrashers franchise, whose lone division title/playoff appearance in '07 is nothing but a blip on the loser radar. You'd think a division with the two previous Stanley Cup winners in it would be tough to win, but they managed to do it with 97 points, and proceeded to get swept in the first round.

I would say the 2004 Carolina Panthers are pretty one hit wonder-y. 7-9 in 2002, 7-9 in 2004, NFC Champs in 2003. That team was basically the 08 Cardinals before the 08 Cardinals existed.

How about the 1996 Panthers?

Basically, until 2003, that was their only WINNING SEASON!

They and the Jags took different routes to the '96 conference title games. By 1998, you saw the wheels fall off one and the other stayed consistent.

1986 Rockets. Yes, Houston won two titles in '94 and '95, but other then Hakeem, those teams were completely different. Hakeem and Ralph Sampson were supposed to make the Rockets an all-time dynasty. And when the third year Sampson and second year Olajuwon took down the defending champion Lakers, it looked like they might live up to the hype. Yet, after they made the Finals and lost to the Celtics, Sampson's health started to decline, several other players were sidelined with drugs, and Houston would go from '88 to '93 without making it out of the first round.

And if I could maybe name a two year wonder, the 1977-'79 Trail Blazers would be my choice. Losing seasons from their start until they pick up Maurice Lucas before the '76-'77 season. Then they storm though the playoffs, then win the championship in their first time in the playoffs. The next season, Portland powers through the season with Bill Walton having an MVP year, until Walton gets injured. Walton still wins MVP and Portland wins a series, but then things go south, and soon the Trail Blazers are a first round out while Walton is hurt on the bench in San Diego.

1976 Cavaliers and the Miracle of Richfield

Won Central Division, shocked previous year's NBA Finalist Bullets in 7 ganes, stretched Celtics to 6 in East Finals.

After that, they won only 2 playoff games PERIOD between 1977-1987.
