  1. So... We'll get for color names: "Cardinal Red" (easy enough, even if actually a maroon) "Arizona Copper" (even if technically an orange) "70 and Originally from Chicago Pale" (white) Am I close?
  2. Well, to be fair, people tend to be more interested in Major League teams than Minor League teams.
  3. Honestly, the only way around it would be to schedule every home weekend series Thursday through Saturday. Now that may not be undoable. However, it still has a leaguewide effect on scheduling. But a team playing there on the weekend would be guaranteed Sunday off as well since no series begins on a Sunday.
  4. Everybody plays on Saturdays AND Sundays. Weekend series are at least Friday through Sunday. Wraparound series are very rare, maybe one or two a year total, leaguewide. To allow an SLC team to not play on Sundays, even just at home, would, in fact, cause them to completely alter the schedule. And given how many games MLB plays, that could be a very tall task with implications across the league.
  5. When the Jags wear some piece in teal, they look good enough. It's when the jersey and pants are each black and/or white. Black over black, white over white, black over white and white over black are all bad. If the jersey or pants are teal (to a lesser extent, teal over teal), then it's a decent look.
  6. Plus Kansas City essentially draws some from Kansas, Nebraska, probably some of Iowa, even a little bit of Missouri. Salt Lake would probably just draw from that part of Utah, I imagine. South Utah, as well, but I'm not sure how populated that is.
  7. Yeah he did the Cardinals/Phillies series. He probably doesn't know about anything outside of the Yankees.
  8. Do you know how many teams have had that striping pattern since the 70s?
  9. Oh I'd say Vegas is probably one of the frontrunners for expansion if the A's stay put. There will be no expansion until the A's and Rays situations are resolved, so if they miss out in relocation, expansion is a high probability. Them and Nashville may be 1-2 with Montreal a close 3rd, expansionwise.
  10. I think Montreal (if the Rays don't wind up there) may be ahead of the Carolinas.
  11. Expansion? Maybe (but probably unlikely). Relocation? Doubtful. Can't imagine the A's or Rays passing over Vegas, Nashville or Montreal... or Charlotte... or San Antonio/Austin... or New Jersey... for Salt Lake City. Nothing against the city, sports or otherwise, but those two teams would have their pick of where to move, if they were to move. I just don't see Salt Lake being more appealing than their other options.
  12. Hey, Pittsburgh and Memphis are completely different. Like "Under Pressure" and "Ice Ice Baby" different. Nothing alike.
  13. This would make naming them "Pittsburgh" even more ridiculous. "Let's put this team in Canton and appeal to the fans in Cleveland by naming them Pittsburgh".
  14. So Pittsburgh got Clevejacked?
  15. Actually, considering the frequency in which the Falcons and Saints BOTH wear all-black, Carolina would make it 3 out of 4.
  16. 1. They've been a navy, red and white team for like 100 years. 2. There was a reason nobody else had it. (even though pms 465 is a very common color in sports, it didn't translate as well here)
  17. One thing they need to do better next year is scheduling. I know places had previously scheduled events, so they need to get in there and set dates early. This multi-weeks on the road has hurt some attendance. If San Antonio had a home game again in week 3, or even week 4, they would have drawn closer to what they did opening night, even with a 1-1 or 1-2 record. No home game for 3 weeks plus a late Sunday night game and 1-3 record killed attendance week 5. And all this led to another poor showing on a Sunday afternoon in week 8. When they're away for so long and not playing well, it gives fans time to decide not to go watch. This is not the NFL. They can't afford to let that happen.
  18. St. Louis wearing their city red on the road for the first time at Seattle.
  19. But they maintain the blue and orange on the black jersey. The Rays would be replacing light navy with black, thus eliminating their primary color. THAT would cause a mismatch within their set. Changing the black to the light navy not only allows it to fit in their current identity, but, in my opinion, actually looks better.
  20. Unless SDSU, SMU, Memphis and Tulane end up in the Big XII.
