Literally my only good memory of the all navy set is the first time they wore it...and only because I wound up being yanked into an otherwise all-girl watch party back when I was in college. I'd rather see the Bears wear fake snouts for a game than all navy at this rate.

I'm imagining if Red Wolf was a fan of the Razorbacks he'd be an Arkansas version of you rn given that the Huskers seem to embarrass themselves at a similar rate to Arkansas nowadays. Scratch that, the Huskers aren't that much of an embarrassment yet, they're closer to Tennessee-level humiliation.

Watching a bit of this American Heritage-Los Alamitos game...#4's almost TD just now where he was caught from behind about 2 yards shy of a score after busting through the defense literally had me humming the Retro Bowl music

You are correct, silver numbers was 93 only, then black numbers/script afterwards (with a black version with teal numbers added a few years later IIRC)

You'd be surprised how popular scripts resembling the mid 2000s Padres (and colored jerseys reminiscent of the late 90s Padres) are among college baseball teams. I am somewhat surprised that script migrated to the football helmet bumper, but only because things unique to the baseball teams (Arizona State's interlocking AS, Miami's English M, Oklahoma State's use of just an O) rarely ever get used by the other sports, Rice's English R being a notable exception.

Gonna avoid the golf answer, it's been taken. College basketball is my answer...sure, I know who's usually good, I know some of the more prominent coaches, but I vastly prefer watching NBA games to college. Ironically, College Hoops 2K7 had one of my favorite dynasty modes. TBH, if not for the sole pro game I've ever attended being a Bucks game, I probably wouldn't have specified college, just put down basketball.

Actually the gold jerseys came around about a year or two before they changed the regular set's bronze to gold IIRC.

Only one thing prevents that...the fact that the cap would unavoidably be frequently mistaken for the Cubs outside of Colorado. True, they could instead go for something that took inspiration, but you're probably stuck with purple. I dunno, I think I was pretty successful in that regard, but what do I know?

Can confirm...the UW system doesn't do it, a vestige of when they had nothing to do with Madison. Only ones I know that use red at all are River Falls (main) and Green Bay (secondary). UWM used to but it's been decades since they did.

I recall FAMU doing this in either the late 90s or early 2000s. No idea why they did it like that.

Wait...so their black jersey has yellow gold. Their white jersey uses Vegas gold. Their third uses no gold. The explanation for why they did this on purpose will probably be a doozy.

Given how boring I think CMU's logo is, I've never done a concept for them (and I actually know a guy who pitched for the Chips in the mid 2000s)...but you've overcome that blandness in a way that requires busting out this little dude

Yeah, that's probably coming. Tonight, though, the Vikings, in both the modern look and the first concept-like thing I'm electing to do, not counting the mint Saints helmet-a tweaked version of the Moss era roads, in that the current viking head and number font are used. If I'd used a yellow cream, I probably would've changed the sleeve stripes on the modern set to match the pants stripes, in case you're wondering.
