I haven't heard anything, but it would be nice to see a few changes (as long as they're good, not just change for change's sake).

Kind of like the Twins' change?

Yes, although I actually ended up liking that. I was expecting something awful, and the Twins' update was respectable IMO.

From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo.

Hatclub has half dozen BP hats for $20. I'd say a fair few teams are changing BP hats. That's pretty standard though is it?

Do you know the teams?

Well, I just had a look at all the teams and there is actually a lot more than I first saw

Baves as Bmac said

Orioles

Cubs

W sox - black one

Tigers - both

Dodgers - grey one

Marlins

Mets

Yankees

Phillies

Padres

Mariners

Rangers - both

Blue Jays - both

Either it's surplus stock or we should be getting ready to add to our hat collections!

I might get smacked for saying this, but IMO the Padres are one team that could possibly pull off a cream jersey quite well. Obviously it shouldn't be a simple carbon copy of their regular home jersey, but if done right, I think it could be a good change.

My mind goes to their former triple-A affiliate, the Portland Beavers:

Though a departure from their trademark red and black scheme, this set was a great spin on the unis of decades long past, and at the same time it meshed well with the parent club's identity without being a straight-up copy.

Again, I'm one of the brown-and-gold lovers. But honestly, it'll never work at Petco, and I think they do just fine with it as a near-regular alternate. Some cream and thick piping, if all done right, could look gorgeous in that downtown ballpark.

Isn't this the Brewers Youniform with a similar, albeit different, script and roundel?

This came way before the YOUniform.

I wouldn't go that far. They're similar, but the piping is quite a bit different on the two sets.

That underscore on the wordmark is surprisingly similar though, now that you mention it.

Does anyone else see the Padres as the Cleveland Cavaliers of the Major Leagues? Roughly four and a half decades old and no discernible visible identity. Admittedly, the Cavaliers have it worse as the Padres at least have some minimal logo continuity and haven't been through two different official nicknames, but both have been through numerous color and uniform changes before reaching a half-century in existence.

What the Padres need to do is find a color scheme they can go with for the long run.

The Vancouver Canucks belong to that club as well.

Cavs works, but I always draw a parallel between the Canucks and Padres. I think all three have made enough color overhauls that some fans just don't associate them with any particularly identity the way the NY Jets are green or the Dodgers or Blue (etc., etc.).

Another team that used to fit in this group was the Astros. But the moment they went to blue and orange with the "H-Star" they answered the question of which identity was theirs.

That's a big part of why I think the Padres to brown would be good; if they go to red/blue (which I think has had some rumors) then we still wonder "how long will this last?" But if they go back to brown they have an instant identity again.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

I believe the solid navy Braves BP cap has been dumped. The one with the red A outlined in white.

That one was dumped prior to last season, at least on field. They exclusively wore the navy with white front panel and throwback "a" all season.

I thought the throwback cap was one of the best Diamond Eras and hoped it saw some actual game use. Has anyone heard more about this year's BP caps or if we will see DE game caps?

More DE caps will be worn during games (Mets, Reds, etc.) but no league-wide switch this season.

I heard rumors that the current game caps might be offered with the same design but with the DE construction as an option for the players...similar to the Cool Base and standard jersey options.

It's still possible perhaps, but it would come as a surprise to the retail side, who, as far as I know, has been told nothing is changing this season. But there's still time.
