kewp80 64 Posted September 12, 2014 Minute Maid made soda? Never knew. Minute Maid made. Minute Maid made. That's a weird one Take a look at these! And these beauties:Also found this interesting.Seems North Carolina never gets credit for Pepsi. It was invented in New Bern, NC. I've been to the original drug store. Seems like every local restaurant has Pepsi out there. Been to NC a lot over the years and have never heard of Cheerwine.I also really liked the retro look that Mountain Dew did there for awhile. Not sure if they're doing it anymore though. Haven't bought a Dew in a while. Cheap vodka pretty much ruined it for me.
OnWis97 4,511 Posted September 12, 2014 In the 1980s, I always likened pop cans to sports uniforms. Colored pop cans = colored (usually "road") jerseys while white cans = white (home) jerseys. This happened with 7up, many colas, Mountain Dew, etc. Eventually, designs evolved to where it was less of a rigid one-color can (plus silver cans, gold cans, etc.) and, of course, the tons of varieties (Zero, Max, etc. in black cans)As an aside, I LOVED when A&W used that brown can.
CS85 10,432 Posted September 14, 2014 That Crystal Pepsi can is one of the most 80's things I've ever seen. Also don't forget Tab:

greyraven8 203 Posted September 15, 2014 More than the older logos I like the different glass bottles here, such as the golf ball like dimples in the sprite bottle. Even when plastic bottles match the shape of the old glass bottle somehow it's just not the same.

Got drunk and sick on it to much when I was much younger - can vodka mixed with anything else and have no problems - same with just orange juice, but when I even smell them mixed together I almost gag.One camping fishing trip brought a large bottle of vodka and mixed it with this:

kewp80 64 Posted September 19, 2014 Who remembers this? I used to drink it by the case my freshman year of high school. That's a pretty ominous warning... I wouldn't want to drink that with a warning like that Did you ever find out what the stuff was that they didn't want you to know about?

Even when plastic bottles match the shape of the old glass bottle somehow it's just not the same. Now those are things of beauty. I wish the retro trend would extend to sodas and put them all in glass bottles like these. Anyone know what "Slice" is?
kewp80 64 Posted September 20, 2014 ^^^ I remember Slice. Not sure if I ever had it though.Nothing beats an ice cold Coke from a glass bottle.Used to get them for a dime from the gas station near my house after Little League practice. What is this glass bottle Coke you speak of? And dimes can be used to buy something?
EddieJ1984 1,615 Posted September 21, 2014 I'd say slice was pepsi's fanta-like line of soda's. It also was their answer to sprite until 2000, also their main orange soda too for a while.\And this was the final label it would have.

Pure bliss.
