LAWeaver
So a pitch clock will be used in the Triple- and Double-A levels. Like a shot clock in the NBA or a play clock in the NFL, the pitch clock will start counting down from 20 once the catcher has returned the ball to the pitcher. The_Admiral
Awesome. Now stop letting hitters call time over and over without taking the bat off their shoulders. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Sport
I blame Nomar. He was the first guy I can remember who had to do an OCD ritual after every single pitch.
HedleyLamarr
So the Braves have traded away their biggest power threats: Heyward, Justin Upton, and now Gattis. All for prospects. It's not like the 2013-2014 formula worked (2013 sort of did, 2014 was a spectacular failure), but it's going to be interesting to see what the Braves do in 2015. Or who's gonna actually be on the roster, other than Bossman Upton.
FiddySicks
Personally, I feel that trade worked out well for both sides. Atlanta is obviously rebuilding (despite holding on to Kimbrel, Freeman, and Simmons, but those seem to be mostly for contractual obligations), while the Astros are trying to get over that hump. It'll set the Braves up nicely for their move into the new park, and the Astros may start to be at least somewhat competitive in the AL West. Honestly, I have to wonder what exactly Texas and Anaheim are doing. Anaheim had at least made some moves for pitching (ditching Kendrick for a young pitcher), but they don't really seem to have done much. Hell, they may not really need to. But Texas has been absolutely treading water, while every other AL West team has gotten stronger. Tigers6884
So the Tigers just resigned David Price to a new contract worth $19.75 million... for one year!http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/david-price-avoids-arbitration-with-tigers-signs-for-record-dollar1975-million/ar-AA8fMbTYou know, some of that money could've gone to Rick Porcello for a longer contract. cmm
Price was going to make around that much thru arbitration anyway, so they really couldn't have used that money on Porcello or anyone else.
2001mark
AAA & AA games going on the 20 second pitch clock. It's just a report via si.com which could mean anywhere from 2 games to full season. @2001mark

cmm
Yovani Gallardo "on the verge" of being traded to Texas, per Ken Rosenthal. The Brewers can then make a run at Shields or Scherzer. I'm sure everyone in Wisconsin is thinking about this trade right now.
