So a pitch clock will be used in the Triple- and Double-A levels. Like a shot clock in the NBA or a play clock in the NFL, the pitch clock will start counting down from 20 once the catcher has returned the ball to the pitcher.

So the Braves have traded away their biggest power threats: Heyward, Justin Upton, and now Gattis. All for prospects.

It's not like the 2013-2014 formula worked (2013 sort of did, 2014 was a spectacular failure), but it's going to be interesting to see what the Braves do in 2015. Or who's gonna actually be on the roster, other than Bossman Upton.

Personally, I feel that trade worked out well for both sides. Atlanta is obviously rebuilding (despite holding on to Kimbrel, Freeman, and Simmons, but those seem to be mostly for contractual obligations), while the Astros are trying to get over that hump. It'll set the Braves up nicely for their move into the new park, and the Astros may start to be at least somewhat competitive in the AL West.

Honestly, I have to wonder what exactly Texas and Anaheim are doing. Anaheim had at least made some moves for pitching (ditching Kendrick for a young pitcher), but they don't really seem to have done much. Hell, they may not really need to. But Texas has been absolutely treading water, while every other AL West team has gotten stronger.

So the Tigers just resigned David Price to a new contract worth $19.75 million... for one year!

You know, some of that money could've gone to Rick Porcello for a longer contract. :angered:

Get over it. Porcello was a above average pitcher. He will never be a Scherzer or Verlander in his prime.

Nori Aoki to the Giants for 1 year.

Man, the Giants are gonna hit, like, four home runs next year.

Yovani Gallardo "on the verge" of being traded to Texas, per Ken Rosenthal. The Brewers can then make a run at Shields or Scherzer. I'm sure everyone in Wisconsin is thinking about this trade right now.
