Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too. He's not exactly known for using his money to make things happen. I'm of the opinion that if he can't make it work with this money then it's not going to happen. Would expect a team to use their primary helmet with primary logo for this type of announcement. The Argos made the decision mid-season in 2019 to use the Football with Sails logo for the rest of the year. A possible sign that this is the new primary helmet and primary logo moving forward? monkeypower Posted December 16, 2019 Share Posted December 16, 2019 Well the original Schooners appeared to be black and gold. But also blue and gold. During the Grey Cup festival in the couple days prior to the game, each team has an area for festival goers (kind of like the countries having houses during the Olympics) and a group from the Maritimes has "unofficially" represented the Atlantic Schooners for the past 12 Grey Cups, using a black and silver Schooners logo. This most recent Grey Cup, the one that just happened, was the first after it was announced this new expansion team would be called the Atlantic Schooners and the team was added with a blue blackground, as seen below. So there are three, maybe four, Schooners colour schemes that exist in one form or another. Black and gold, blue and gold, and black and silver (with the fourth scheme potentially being whatever the blue added on to the Grey Cup festival logo is). Lets get one back in the silver pants. Would want them to be shiny silver like the Raiders have and not grey. Also like the idea of maroon with light blue trim. See that colour scheme a lot with English Premier League clubs (well, claret and blue). Don't really see that in North American pro sports. As for the Atlantic Schooners, I hope they do happen because it balances things out schedule-wise. It also gets a new crop of players and coaches.
