2020 Lower League US Soccer - USL Championship, League 1, League 2, NPSL, etc

Yeah, that's bad.  Especially considering Wilt's otherwise stellar track record.

Given the rumors that the Cosmos might be out of NISA, it's a serious question whether this club ever takes the pitch.  And given the name choices, that might not be a bad thing.

Wait, the Cosmos can leave a league without causing it to fold?

Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop!

Leagues need to maintain a minimum number of members to maintain their sanctioning.  If the richest owner in the league (and one with a personal stake in its future) is in fact bailing out to save a couple bucks, it doesn’t bode well for others.

While the logo of San Diego Loyal SC isn't new, a nice variation has shown up on their 2nd year merchandise. (Really wish it would be their primary)

@FiddySicks Don't remember if you were directly involved or just knew people who were, but you talked about alternate concepts of logos/names that didn't make it. Was that logo below one of them?

I feel like I’ve seen that logo somewhere before, definitely. I wasn’t involved in Loyal’s branding, though. The team’s founder, Warren Smith, is my former boss and someone I still speak to occasionally. I did get a look at a few options leading up to the unveiling, but it was actually several different branding packages. One was at least part of the Loyal brand, but I can’t remember if that was included or not. I do remember one including brown and what looked like Vegas gold or tan, and one was for a Mission San Diego FC brand that was considered early in the process, but was dumped due to trademark issues.

So much better than their regular logo. Should replace it immediately.

I haven't seen this posted on this thread yet, but the Central Valley Fuego of the USL League One unveiled its set of logos last week:

There is quite a disconnect between the main logo and the two secondary logos, but this is already miles better than the Fresno FC logo that came and went before the Fuego

That ball-flame logo for Fuego is excellent. I'd really like to see more clubs (especially NA clubs) move away from the tired shield looks. This on the front of a hisrt would be absolutely perfect. Alas they go with a less-than-inspiring choice for their main crest.

Chicago's new NISA club is...

TvTwNuVl.png?1

* Chicago House bested Point Chicago by a two-to-one margin in the final round of the three-month long 'Moniker Madness' fan-driven name selection promotion.

* Chicago Athletic Club - suggested by fans, but eliminated in the 'Elite Eight' round of voting - made a comeback as an addition to Chicago House.

* Chicago House was submitted by fan Brian Costin. Said Costin: "Chicago House music has always been about peace, love, and acceptance, and has influenced music culture all over the globe. But it's not just music and fun, the name also recognizes the societal contributions of the Chicago House charity serving the LGBTQ community, Jane Addams' Hull House, and the U.S. Soccer House headquartered in Chicago. The accomplishments of these individuals and organizations can act as an aspirational guide for how Chicago House AC can make a positive impact off the pitch as well. I am excited about how Chicago House music will contribute to the club culture and the gameday experience of Chicago House AC."

* Chicago House AC plans to add affiliated teams in a variety of sports to become a true Athletic Club.

* Chicago House AC palette is Patina Green (inspired by the lion sculptures outside the Art Institute of Chicago), Black (representing the founder of Chicago, Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, as well as the city's tallest building, the Sears/Willis Tower), and Deep Rust (a tribute to Chicago's industrial past).

I dig their wordmark and theme - house shape(s), initials making up houses, but it doesn't feel sports-teamy at all.

But I'm not in/from Chicago, can't talk about their history and all.

Hope their current and potential fanbase likes it and that they will be doing well.

Despite Wilt's reputation, they follow up the Fire's wrongs

Chicago Fire = TV Show then eventually soccer team

Chicago House = probably real estate then soccer team

afaik they also have to play in Bridgeview or wherever the Fire were housed (pun intented) prior to relocating to Soldier Field.

"People ask, 'What's the AC stand for?' At Chicago House, it stands for realtors Answering Customers' questions, Assisting Customers' efforts, and Achieving Customers' dreams."

"Brokerage commissions? At Chicago House, the amount will be music to your ears."

This absolutely looks like a logo for a 1970s YMCA style organization, but I think that’s what they were going for.

I kinda like it. It sounds like they're trying to make this whole thing kind of transcend soccer, and I think that’s probably a good move in a city with as big of an urban population as Chicago. That’s sort of what Barca and (I think) Boca in Argentina do, right?
