B-Rich 1,230 Posted December 11, 2020 The other night I watched alma mater #2 (Georgia Tech) in a basketball game at Nebraska. Although I had seen it before in print, ads, and other such items, this was the first time I had ever seen the weird script "Huskers" wordmark logo in use on a jersey (and on center court). It's HIDEOUS. Nothing about it makes me think of athletics. Instead it seems evocative of the logo of an upscale department store: "The best styles, the best selection, and the best price... you'll get it all at Huskers!" Probably because of its similarity to these:
the admiral 29,095 Posted December 11, 2020 I never thought of it that way before, but now I only will. Bring back Field's.

neo_prankster 3,428 Posted December 18, 2020 This is the logo I think of when I think of the tail end of Tom Osborne's tenure.
NicDB 3,030 Posted January 10 I never made this connection before. Probably because the main department store in my neck of the woods had a wordmark out of the 1890s.
TenaciousG 907 Posted January 11 Noooooo! I love the wordmark, probably because of stupid lizard brain nostalgia. But I still love it. It’s unique for sports. I don’t see what’s wrong with an upper Midwest state aligning themselves with the department store lifestyle lol.
EddieJ1984 1,735 Posted January 17 Or as everyone called it "Wanamaker's" was in my beck of the woods
hanny 0 Posted January 17 I enjoy the logo on its own, can’t stand it when placed over the N. Either way, very 90s.

The Impaler 9 Posted February 10 Personally love the script logo, I agree with TenaciousG though, probably more from a nostalgia standpoint. It is very 90's, and I'm ok with that.
