One thing that could really elevate the looks of teams is wearing patterned leggings under their pants. Hear me out:

We're seeing a lot of players transition from high socks to a combo of leggings and low socks. Not everyone, but a lot. I think teams want "unified looks" (yes, some stars get away with completely not matching) so they go with unpatterned sock colors. In this image, Stafford, Henderson, and Kupp all have a legging on, Woods has leg sleeves (basically socks).

Now, I know from owning them myself, Nike makes leggings with patterns directly on the legging. If they simply designed the leggings to have striping patterns on the calf (or wherever a team prefers), we could get much more creative. Socks we obviously know can be done.

This type of stuff has been tried before, A&M tried styled undershirts for A&M in the Manziel era.

We keep seeing teams opt for leotard looks, and this could be a fantastic fix. Once one team does it, a bunch will follow suit. (trends!) Socks are such a huge part of the uniform, especially with the shorter pants that players are wearing. arguably worth 1/4 of a uniform at this point, and gives teams a way to splash more color into a uniform.

What doesn't make sense about it? Legally NY are the New York Football Giants, Inc. but nobody puts "Football Giants" on the stat sheets, because it's ridiculous. Washington has no nickname.

Albeit temporary, “Football Team” is literally their nickname. They dropped the old nickname and had 100 days to form a new identity. Normally, that process takes 18-24 months to accomplish. It’s literally your opinion you don’t think they have a nickname because YOU think it’s a ridiculous name. When in reality, it’s a fact that “Football Team” is the nickname and has been for almost two full season now.

*Yellow

And they look like ass in that all-eggplant motif

I’d prefer if they used contrasting (white) pants, but right now, Minnesota is a purple and white team, with gold yellow as and accent color.

And they went with no identity. Do you consider the "Football Club" in  "Austin Football Club" a nickname?  Would you list them as Football Club in a stat sheet? If it's a yes to those questions then whatever, we disagree semantically on what a nickname is.

Going by "Football Team" without a true mascot leaves the door open for fans to fall back on their old logo, HTTR chant, all that crap.

A true nickname needs to be given to Washington, in part, so this scenario doesn't happen.

49ers and Saints = Gold

Vikings and Steelers = Yellow

You’re wrong, like completely wrong, it isn’t a debate of opinion because the colors do have official names and that isn’t up for debate. The 49ers use old gold, saints use to use old gold but now use vegas gold. Just because the Vikings and Steelers don’t use a metallic version doesn’t mean it’s not gold. It is distinctly a more orange shade than yellow which is used by the blues.

You can’t really compare a soccer team’s name to a football team’s name when “[insert city name] Football Club” has a more unified use in franchise naming of the former’s sport.

It's a direct comparison.

The organization is called "Washington Football Team". They should always be referenced as Washington. However, most NFL media has been created to use the team "nickname" in the forefront (Eagles vs. Vikings), etc etc. So in the past two years, they have felt the need to do Eagles vs. Football Team to keep the same template. We're finally starting to see Eagles vs. Washington as it should correctly be IF they need to use Eagles instead of Philadelphia vs. Washington.

No one calls Liverpool, Football Club. They just call them Liverpool or they have other nicknames used casually.
