He discussed the branding on the 32 Thoughts podcast a little while ago and mentioned that he expects there to be some overlap between the NHL team and the Jazz. He also brought up the popularity of purple, so I'd be very surprised if the hockey team didn't use it in some capacity. SavardToColton Posted June 5 Share Posted June 5 Honestly the more I've paid attention to the Utah NHL branding debate I'm at the point where I would be somewhat disappointed if they don't use purple, especially with how underused it is in the current NHL. It would fit the Yeti name too which, as mentioned in this thread, is probably the preferred option despite the whole pomp and circumstance of the vote. Despite Smith saying they were down to 4 names, there are 6 options to choose from. I bet they are just there to eat up protest/troll votes. That's been the pretty much confirmed rumor on the Kings all season. It's even at the point now where all of their ads for Mothers Day/Fathers Day gifts solely feature items with the Chevy logo. Just wait until they really get us all... the temporary name will be Utah's Hockey Club Also, I just can't hear the word blizzard without thinking about Dairy Queen. I guess that name would somehow fit well with "Jazz" but that is going to be really tough to build a brand around. spartacat_12 Posted June 6 Share Posted June 6 Might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't mind the Ducks keeping the colour scheme. The logo was always the bigger problem.
