Partycrasher
big improvement. I'm not sure how you could look back at the warmed-over pseudo-throwback they've been using and actually say with a straight face that you prefer it. raysox
I think the branding of WWE events usually is pretty poor, but i'll give them credit - this is the most WWE logo of all time Quote @MichaelDanger19 | Dribbble

Hard to argue the new logo isn't the worst in SD history

Hard to argue the new logo isn't the worst SD history you can't say things like that and then show an image with two preceding logos that were demonstrably worse. the SD Live logo was laughable, but the 2019-2024 one specifically is a flat, static retread of the One True SmackDown Logo. it's the wrestling equivalent of the Pringles rebrand. this is a pointless argument, anyway, because everyone here knows the 2001-2008 logo never should've been changed. sure, they could've HD-ified it or whatever over time, but getting rid of the ! was the worst thing they ever did to it. TrueYankee26
The one thing that I have noticed is how teal the blue looked in the 1999 logo, really jarring when you compare it to all of the other logos Quote trueyankee26.wordpress.com
kmccarthy27
The SD logo thing looks like a Minor League baseball logo, and will look really good on a baseball cap.

What would acceptable names be? Are there any companies that name their shows in ways that don't indicate that they're in their own universe? 1 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Sure the name is a little cheesy in a WWF way but it at least conveyed that it would be a more risky show than what was previously on saturday night network specials. Now the name is just shortened to the word Raw. If I was starting a show from scratch, Raw wouldn't be in the top 100 list of words to use for a show. To me it just screams Vince being obsessed with how a word sounds and now we've been stuck with it for over 30 years. Its still better than when he decided to name a PPV Great Balls of Fire

Its still better than when he decided to name a PPV Great Balls of Fire We could probably move this to the wrestling forum in a bit, but in the modern era, has there ever been a show without some name that is explosive or risqué or just plain stupid? NITRO, Dynamite, Rampage!, Collision, Thunder, Powerrrrrr, etc. that’s just how it is. My argument is that it’s not a case of WWE and their rapist leader living in their own universe, that’s just how the business evolved for whatever reason. Maybe he started it, but everyone else willingly jumped on board. The_Admiral
Pre-Raw shows had names like Prime Time, Superstars, All-American, Challenge, Saturday Night, Pro Wrestling, Worldwide Wrestling, Main Event, and Power Hour. It was a big change away from less evocative names that were more just "here is a wrestling show with wrestlers" but were more in line with sports presentations--imagine if the NFL called its flagship Monday night telecast "The Blitz." Laughable! I think the lone post-Raw outlier would be ECW on TNN, but that was always a pretty low-effort, low-budget operation. I always thought SmackDown was a stupid name. I didn't like that one of the Rock's dumber second-tier catchphrases got to become an entire weekly show, but then I never did like the Rock back then anyway. Too late to do anything about it now.
