TwoRsAndTwoLs
I remember someone talking about how lame certain sports are for having something to do with the sport IN the logo (i.e. the Padres' home-plate, or "Yankees" written on a baseball), so I thought I'd rework at least a couple of MLB logos so as to get rid of the baseball... and add some other little things that seem interesting. Thus: the Mariners and Rangers.any C n' C? officeglenn
I like the font change on the Seattle logo. The Texas one, the sheriff's badge just looks a little too out of place and tacked on, if you know what I mean.As for the larger idea behind these, I've always figured, if there's a big white circle of space in the logo anyhow, why not make a baseball out of it? Makes sense to me. And if you get teams with common names (i.e. Lions, Jets, etc.), I don't mind having the sport's ball in there just to differentiate between them at a quick glance. chakfu
Speaking of Mariners and baseballs; is the Alvin Davis era "M's" logo on the baseball the worst logo of all time in major professional sports?

The_Admiral
Speaking of Mariners and baseballs; is the Alvin Davis era "M's" logo on the baseball the worst logo of all time in major professional sports? It wasn't the worst. The original LA Kings crown, first TBDRs gradient thing, and current 76ers are all pretty horrid. The M's thing was just way too bland, even for baseball. β« oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is goneΒ β«
TwoRsAndTwoLs
yeah, I thought the M's one looked a little unbalanced. It actually surprised me what weird angles are involved in making that thing.I considered resizing the badge so that it fits inside both concentric circles for Texas, but I thought I might lose the effect that way. However, I'm real happy with how the recolorization of the letters looks, and I think I might put those letters on the old star-on-a-diamond-with-pinstripes logo to replace "Texas Rangers Baseball Club" Every Fifth Day is a
iccomics
you just gotta keep the baseball in the m's one, it just doesnt look right without it, maybe cuz im used to it here in seattle, but the font is good.

Were you referring to the badge he used? Or to a badge in general? The badge makes sense given the name & location--but if you mean that badge specifically I can understand...
