Am I the only one who likes the Rays unis?

Tampa Bay gets bashed a lot on this board, and I suppose with good reason: ridiculous name, disaster of a stadium, and above all, horrible play for the team's entire history. And I suppose anything they have now is an improvement over the horrible gradient-purpleness they started with.

But, I actually LIKE what they have now. A lot of that is the decision to go with green as a primary. I've always felt green is a great color that is criminally underused in sports. Only two teams use it as a primary in MLB (Rays and A's), two in NFL (Eagles and Packers), and two in NHL (Wild and Stars).

But I also think the 'Rays' wordmark is kind of cool, despite the stupid ray sliding across. And the TB hat logo is classic, but modern. And, they've actually got an alt that is what an alt should be - the team's solid color (and its green, not black) with a secondary logo on it.

(And just so we all remember.. YIKES).

Their uniforms are good. Especially since they made the switch to green as a primary color.

Someday the rainbow unis the jays used to wear will sell huge as throwbacks. Trust me on that one.

i dont mind the rays unis. theyre pretty nice.

the one thing i cant stand though (and this applies to all teams with sleeveless jerseys) is when they wear the skin tight under-armour as sleeves instead of the t-shirt material. and with some players they even screenprint the ray onto the bicep. it looks terrible.

I'm with ya, I like em a lot, especially the road grays, and for a while I was thinking of getting a Baldelli jersey before he went down for the year. I just think they should get rid of black altogether. Of note I think it's interesting that in your sig pic it looks like the Ray logo is screened on the sleeve of Crawford's shirt.

Their home jerseys would look beautiful if they played in an open-air stadium instead of the Tropicana dump (even in hot, humid Florida) against a downtown skyline of some sort. Even their spring-training home is better than the Trop.

I like the Rays unis...in fact, I have a Rays home replica white uni that I found for a really good price a couple years ago. I think it was the first year they switched from the rainbow unis to what they have today.

Actually, that's a really good point. No team's jerseys look good when they're in the depressing Trop, and you never get to see them wear their whites anywhere else.

im a huge fan of the rays uniforms i think they are very simple but clean....maybe if tampa could finance a real baseball only park they would draw more of the thousands of baseball fans around the st pete area.
