Jigga
I think that people have a habit of predicting based on what they saw last year and how the offseason has affected last year's team...we can't help it really. I agree with you that the Eagles may be in some trouble. I just don't think they'll conquer the AFC. T.O. is trying to Keyshawn his way out of town, Pinkston ripped his Achilles in half, and FredEx got his great hands shipped out. DMac had a career year last year, and I just don't see a repeat. Then again, I'm a 'Skins fan, so I am a bit biased. On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Knits Rockne made up George Tip's death bed speech. OB33
Just out of curiosity, to those who picked the Colts to win or get to the Super Bowl -- what makes them any better this year than in past years? It seems to me that every single year, there's a huge cluster of people who think Indy is gonna finally pounce all over the Patriots and storm their way to a world title. It's not gonna happen this year, it's not gonna happen ever. Although I did pick the Patriots I still am a Colts fan and will try to give my best shot at trying to answer this one. The Colts D is a little better with the addition of Marlin Jackson and will get better when Mike Doss returns from his suspension. Granted, it's still not going to be a defense that will shock the league but it can hurt you with speed. If the Colts can get homefield advantage, we could see a case much like the Rams in '99 where a team that doesn't have much D compensates by using the extra speed that comes from turf to get to the Super Bowl which is also being played in a dome and squeaks one out.In other words, the Patriots are the better team but the better team doesn't always win. But they still do most of the time.Let me close this grouping of random arguments by saying that there's no D in champion, but there is an O. Pat
If there is any packer Rubes out there that help me better my understanding of why the pack are going to win the north again please divuldge this information so that I may be enlightend.......and please nobody waste my time with the whole "Brett Favre is Magic" theory. To Ryguy:The Pack should contend with for the North becasue they have the best QB, RB, and Receivers in the north. Even without the guards, their line is very good. Their offense is extremely stacked. Their defense is terrible, but they have a ton of horsepower and one of the best offenses in the league.Sharper wasnt that good to begin with. He was good, but way overrated. Our DLine will be pretty good if Cletidus Hunt can perform to how he can. The Linebackers IMO got better with the addition of Ray Thompson. Al Harris, Ahmad Carrol, and Joey Thomas could be pretty good corners. If Harris plays well again, and Carrol plays better than his rookie season than our corners will have improved greatly. Our safeties are pretty terrible. Roman sucks, and whoever we put in beside him will probably not be too good either. Collins, Freeman, Little and Roman will play Safety by commitee. As I said earlier the Pack have by far the best offense in the north. Their Oline downgraded but we picked up Klemm, and O'Dwyer. Plus rookie Whittacker's been playing very well.So all in all. Our safety's got worse. Our OLine did as well but it is still very good. And as I said they have the best offense in the divisionThats why the Pack should contend. I have absolutely no faith in the Falcons, the Packers are running a broken ship, and if anyone says the words "Lions" or "Vikings" I'm gonna laugh. The Eagles aren't worthy of being NFC champions this year (from what I can see), but they're the least crappy team in a crappy conference.

Personally I dont hink Mike Williams be much of a facotr right now. Roy Williams is fantastic. But right now I'd take Walker, Driver, and Ferguson, down the road maybe Williams, Williams, and Rogers. Plus with a QB like Harrington feeding them the ball I dont think theyll do as well. Proud owner of the Utah Pioneers of the Continnental Baseball League.PACKER BACKER FOREVER! ryguy3285
Hey Pat one of the things that you keep saying is that you have the best QB in the North.........um I would beg to differ due to the past two years Daunte Culpepper has CLEARLY been better.............here is the comparisonName, Passing Yds, Rushing Yds, Total Yds, Passing Tds, Rushing Tds, Total Tds, INTs, Ave RatingBrett Favre, 7449, 51, 7500, 62, 0, 62 38, 91.4Daunte Culpepper, 8196, 828, 9024, 64, 6, 70, 22, 103.7So i think that the stats speak to themselves and if i hear another packer fan blame the recievers for cutting their routes i think I am going to be sick

Pat
Personslly, if it was for just one year, Id take Favre over Culpepper in a second. Yes Culpepper had an amazing season last yearm wouldve probably won the MVP if it wasnt for Manning.I just dont see him doing as well without Moss( yes I know Moss was out for a while lasty year and he did fine, but an entire season) and without a legit running attack. If the Panthers stay healthy this year, I think that they're a team that's almost as good as the team that made SB XXXVIII. They did lose Muhammad but it's still a run oriented ofense anyway. But if injury bugs bite twice then the NFC will probably be worse this year than last year. #CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP

IceCap
chargers all the way oakland will be tough to beat now that they have moss, but collins will self destruct as usual. plus i can't wait to see jammer vs moss. should be intresting. denver is shell of its former self, and chiefs showed their true colours last year.on to what seem to be the two main topics of this thread:the colts will not beat the pats. they simply can't. i don't even think the colts believe in themselves any more when it comes to beating the pats.the lions will win the nfc north. they'll lose in round one though. the pats will be lucky to beat out the bears in the standings this year. farve is washed up, and should have retired two years ago. he's been the number one reason for the pack's excit from the playoffs for the last two seasons. first he passes into a group of three eagles defenders. the next year he plays like crap against the vikings.
