Corey Simon to Colts.
Report: Simon close to deal

with Colts

Daily News Wire Services

Former Eagles defensive tackle Corey Simon reportedly has a new team.

According to ESPN.com, Simon, who played five seasons with the Eagles, has reached an agreement in priniciple with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Web site, citing sources close to the negotiations, reported the agreement could be finalized as early as today, and that two Colts players said they had been told by coaches that Simon would join the team.

Simon became an unrestricted free agent on Sunday night when the Eagles rescinded their 1-year, $5.13 million franchise-tag offer.

ESPN.com reported that Simon is likely to get a 5-year deal that would put him among the highest paid players in the league at his position.

Exactly what the Colts needed, a run stopper to go with Dwight Freeney, and

exelent pass rusher. The DL looks pretty good now.

DE Freeney

DT Simon

DT Josh Williams

DE Raheem Brock/Rashean Mathis

The Colts needed an overweight, out-of-shape, over-rated, over-paid defensive tackle?

YUP!

Atleast he's better than (Josh Williams/Larry Tripplett/Reagor) that can't even stop Correll Buckhalter on one leg from getting past through the middle into the secondary. Have you seen the Colts DL get ripped apart? Well, it does get ripped apart and even an over-weight, out-of-shape, over rated, over paid player who'll get you a couple sacks a year is better than what the Colts have right now.

As bad as Corey Simon is, he's an improvement for the DL for the Colts, because if he just gets on the field and sits there every down he already is doing more for the Colts than the DL was doing BEFORE he got there.

Fair enough.

...Largent never called:

Warrick03170_0901.jpg

His No. 80 from... the Bengals, of course, is Steve Largent?s retired number. Not that it?s any big deal. In fact, he seems to have fallen in love with No. 10 all over again; that would happen to be his jersey in high school, only in Seahawks colors. It?s almost as if Kitna woke him up this Wednesday morning, changed his clothes, and took him to the airport.

?I never really thought it would happen,? Warrick said. ?Then once I got here, 'Kit talked to me about the coach and how he?s a great guy and stuff like that. Here I am, No. 10. I?m going to keep it. This was my number when I first went to high school, and I had a great year with No. 10. Before, I couldn?t have 10. It?s just great, I?m going to keep this number. Nobody has 10 as a receiver, so I?m going to make it work.?

While wereon the subject of the Colts D,in one of the dumbest moves IMO,the TiTans trades Rocky Calmus to the Colts for a undisclosed draft pics, and the reason why i said its dumb move (dont get me wrong the draft pick will help )is because they're in the same f~(<ing division.

GB is shopping around JT O Sullivan. Ive heard Detroit and Miami are interested. Of course the future considerations, or a 7th rounder will be coming our way, but Ill take anything.

That is one stupid move! Why would the Titans want to trade away a young linebacker anyways?!?!

BTW, WTF is Pittsburgh trying to pull releasing WR Fred Gibson?!?!?!?!?!?

Da Boys sign Price 1 yr 2 mil

who?

Peerless Price would be my guess.

The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League sign former University of Tennessee (thats a College team) Wide Reciever, originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, most recently played with the Atlanta Falcons also of the NFL, Peerless Price to a 1(one) year (thats 365 days) contract worth 2(two) million American dollars.

Got it?

Didn't the Broncos cut Quentin Griffin?

Yes, along with some others that Broncos fans are furious over.

Who? Triandos Luke, Matt Mauck, Jeremy LeSueur? What were they expected to do? Darius Watts, Bradlee Van Pelt, and the DBs they drafted this year are just better.

I guess since Griffin is coming off a major injury and the Broncos picked up two much better backs in the off-season, he was expendable.
