I believe draft order goes to the Strength of Schedule, so whoever has the easiest schedule with the worst record gets the higher pick. The way i see it is, you want Bush because he can help your team to win later, but wouldnt you want them to win NOW? brinkeguthrie
we'll (possibly) have the worst record in the league two straight years. the niners winning today does NOTHING to affect a disasterous season. But long-term, the chance to have Bush in the backfield is huge.I am a very big Niners fan. But when you're on the bottom looking up, your viewpoint can't be quite the same as say, a Colts or Seahawks fan, cruising to your best seasons ever. OK, ive been a Bucs fan for years now, and there have been some years where theyve been absolutely horrible, but no matter how bad the year is, im always happier after a win than a loss. I just think its stupid to root against your own team, ever On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) brinkeguthrie
a clarification:I would never actively root for them to lose. but, if they didn't win, as they have done many times this year, it wouldn't kill me. this season was lost long ago. when you go w/o a TD in like 8 of your 14 games- ya need offense. a meaningless win over a poor Rams team just means they have 1 more win than 04. If they end up with the #1 pick, they can improve a tremendous amount.scenario:You're tied for the worst rec in the league. If you lose the last game, you get the top pick, and his name is Peyton Manning. You can't predict how he will turn out (Leaf, Ryan) but you think he'll be pretty good.you KNOW it will be going thru players and coaches minds. they wont admit it. but it would be. SEMOSTLfan
the entire rams organization needs to clean house, from the coaching staff to the players the whole organization is in shambles right now. I can hardly stand to watch the mistakes they make in every game, they are like a little league team that never learns. On the bright side spring training starts in eight weeks. Reggie Bush isn't gonna have a career worth anything either if he goes to SF of houston because he won't have an offensive line worth a crap to block for him. He'll have to do it all himself and likely end up getting injured. World Champions: 1926 1931 1934 1942 1944 1946 1964 1967 1982 2006

He should never have went in the first round, let alone number one.
Tentomushi5150
It's much too early to say that Alex Smith is going to be the worst number 1 pick ever. The 49ers got the number 1 pick last year for a reason, they were awful. Getting a new quarterback doesn't stop the opponents from racking up points, it doesn't suddenly make your offensive line great at run blocking, it only gives you an improvement at quarterback. Let the rest of the team begin to develop around him, and if he is still horrible, then you can talk, but until then, don't knock a rookie playing for arguably the worst team in the league.
