1991
i'm suprised no one has picked up on this, apparently the san francisco giants will have new uniforms (home at least) in 06. when a picture of recent player signing appeared in the paper, i noticed that the jersey he was putting on looked similar to what the braves' jersy looks like except with the same "giants" font from the previous season. sorry i can't find a picyure. knox
Looks like they added some piping:
Moser316
Looks like they added some piping: But here's the problem: You won't see that piping when the jersey is buttoned. The piping ends on the front flap of the jersey, creating the effect of piping around the neckline only. I don't think there's a change here, but maybe somebody with a Giants authentic home jersey could confirm?
Krona
they've had that piping since they retooled the jerseys about 5 or 6 years ago. i had no idea the piping ran down the inside though
John in KY
they've had that piping since they retooled the jerseys about 5 or 6 years ago. i had no idea the piping ran down the inside though My nephew has an authentic Giants jersey; the piping doesn't run all the way down, it only goes down below the lettering. I think his is a 2002 jersey, so I guess it could have changed recently.
IronChefShark
no new jerseys for 06. the collar piping on my authentic home jersey goes all the way down to the top of the third button, and it is out of view when the jersey is buttoned up. its just exposed here because morris didnt bother buttoning his jersey up. brinkeguthrie
they could at least have an alt.are the giants the only team with just 1 home 1 road? (not counting BPs)wait, I guess NYY are home/road only.
Sodboy13
I know I run the risk of getting backhanded clear across the forum for this one, but man, I miss the Giants' black alts.

Ben5
Maybe you won't get blacklisted for saying that. The main concern is about adding black to color scemes that don't need it. The Giants have always used black, so the black alt is not out of the question.

jws008
One slight correction on St. Louis:The Cardinals do just have the home/away uniform combinations, but they do have an alternate cap (for Sundays).
mjmatias
That's the way it should be, 1 home and 1 road jersey.note that these are all historic well established teams. No need for all that merchandising hype. We'll leave the schizophrenic multiple uniforms to the newer franchises. CS85
Do the cardinals not have a red jersey? They must have retired it, or banished it to batting practice only.
Krona
No because the black alt looked stupid with the balck #s and i dont want to even think about an orange, or God save us all, a GOLD alt. all of those would be bad. i'd like to see a white home set as an alt as opposed to the cream, with the old giants script that shows up on their bp hats and jerseys
pcgd
Do the cardinals not have a red jersey? They must have retired it, or banished it to batting practice only. In the 80s they wore their batting practice jerseys for one game. Pictures have not been found.Other than that, Since 1922 its been the Birds on the Bat on white/grey for their entire existance except: 1922 (alt), a few years in the 1920s where it was just a single bird on the bat, 1926 (home), and 1956 (neither had them)

I like the cream because it is different than any other team and still isnt disgusting (like the Pads road unis are)
brinkeguthrie
yea, 2006 is the year i get an actual home jersey with numeral. (if I had to guess, I will pick #24, the greatest Giant of them all.)The cream home's are great. But I think a black alt with white numbers trimmed in orange/black/gold (isnt that how the home black numerals are trimmed?) would look cool. They had black numbers trimmed in orange on the old black alts- they were terrible. even in the stands, you could read them. And I think an alt retro cap of black with orange bill and the old G would be cool. VitaminD
The cream home's are great. Absolutely the best home jersey in baseball. And I am not a Giants fan. But since they signed my favorite player ever, I'll be treating myself to a new home #13, to go with my Omar Vizquel 1988 M's and 1996 Indians jerseys.
