Baseball:

Orel Hershiser (is "from" here, but didn't live here long, and went to HS in New Jersey)

Oh, no you don't!! Orel's on my list - South Jersey all the way! My kids will go to the same high school he went to. (Bonus note: I was on the same Little League team as Orel, separated by 14 years.)

Hey, he was born here. So I get to claim him too. Can't argue with facts.

I'm having fun decyphering where all you people are from, when you tell me who is famous from there, but not WHERE you are!

Well, I'm from Atlanta, so there's..yeah.. But I live near Evansville, IN (Don Mattingly and others). I did go to school with Eric Campbell (actually friends with him) and he got drafted after he graduated by the Braves.

St. Catharines has produced mostly hockey players, IIRC. While many weren't born here they did live here for a few years. Players like Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, and Marcel Dionne, to name a few. Owen Nolan grew up not far from here. Bryan McCabe was born here, but I think he moved to Calgary not long after he was born.

That's all I can remember, I'm sure there are lots more. I'll have to do a little research.
