Luongo's new mask

It's alright, but there's definitely better. I'm looking forward to see what Legace's helmet looks like...his Al the Octopus one was my favorite mask in the NHL. Granted, I'm a Wings fan. Turco's is pretty sweet too.

Of course, once I learn to airbrush, my ALF mask is gonna mop the floor with those.

doesn't it look like the moon is about to crash in to the mountain on the side?

just on top of the red... buildings?

EDIT: I know what I'm looking at is just the hole in the side of the mask, but it looks like the moon to me in that pic. But the red building things I don't get.

It's nice work, but not really original, reminds me too much of Théodore's Habs (RIP).

Not to hi-jack this topic, but best mask out there is by far Ryan Miller's, unfortunately, I'm afraid his awesome design may not translate well into the new colour scheme (unless he already had it repainteed?)

Meh

What is MEH ? what is that supposed to mean ? I see it here at least once a week ?

From the Wiktionary:

meh. (slang) An interjection expressing indifference, apathy, or ?I don?t know?; the verbal equivalent of a shrug of the shoulders.

Popularized by the television show The Simpsons, specifically in the episode titled ?Hungry Hungry Homer? (Season 12, Episode 15.)

At first glance, it looked too much like the mask of your favorite dodgeball player and mine, Jose Theodore.

Turco's old mask was sweet, his new one is pretty pedestrian. But he has launched the 'gargoyle on top of a brick wall' trend. See again, Hair Club client and Positive test due to Propecia popping, Jose Theodore.

Is there any sites out there that show a varitey of both new and old masks? I love the creativity on some, however i find it difficult to recall certain ones that people talk about?

Bishop Designs does many of them for the players(Turco, Legace, McLennan etc.), I'd check his website.

Bishop Designs Website

After checking it out, he does Ryan Miller, Ed Belfour, and Freddy Brathwaite as well. He used to have more on his site though...I guess when he re-designed his site, he let some of the old pics off.

I don't know where you get Theodore's old mask from Luongo's one. Theodore had gargoyles on his...kinda like Turco. As for the bear comment, well the Canucks are BC's team and a bear is a good representation of BC. The mask that looks like a moon could represent his boyhood idol Grant Fuhr, if you read article on the Victoria Times Colonist website. As for the colours, last time I checked those were Canucks colours. Since when was concrete grey a Canuck colour?

The gargoyles were mostly on the top. I believe they're part of a Montreal building.

Right cheek has a city skyline... this is what I had in mind:
