So they aren't dancing. Teams that can actually finish games stand a better chance of going to the NCAAs than 18 win teams that can't.Enjoy the NIT home game. I'll enjoy Bradley's run. (hey...I like their chances against a Big East team).You DO realize that he's talking about Stanford, AND that they ARE IN the tournament, even ranked as high as 11.Oh they are....damn...ignore all that. However, I do cheer for Air Force (more than any of the other in-state teams) and I think that what BzDelik has done there has been impressive.I wouldn't mind seeing 3 more play-in games, though. I mean, with Air Force?I'm not sure it's a stupid decision with Air Force, and trust me, I was pulling for 'em all year. They didn't beat a team with a winning conference record since, like, January, or something like that. They were impressive early in the year, destroying Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Stanford, and beating George Washington and UNLV -- but they were very unimpressive in conference play... and ask Clemson... it's how you finish. But honestly, I feel that if we can find a way to get past Memphis, we may be able to win the brackett. But thats a HUGE if, and we also have to find a way to accually finish teams off. I dont thik Ohio State can hold up as long as many think they can. Theyve shown their weaknesses this season. But I would LOVE to see a Nevada-Louisville game. Lousville Center David Padgett is a former Reno High star who I got to see on several occasions against STHS. Half the people around here love the guy while the other half hate him for not staying with the home town team. The at-large bids are really for great teams that suffered a bad beat in their conference tournaments, or other teams that the committee feels should be in for whatever reason. It is more "good fortune" for the bubble-teams that make it, as opposed to being "snubbed" for the teams that didn't. Someone can have good luck without someone else having bad luck. Is that weird to anyone else?Isn't it possible that a team can decline a NIT invite?I seem to recall Georgia Tech (or some other school) was so disappointed that they didn't get into the NCAA Tournament one year that they declined the invitation to the NIT. The field decreased to 32 from 40, and now has to include the regular season champions of conferences who didn't reach the NCAA Tournament. So it is possible that Washington simply got left out.....
