drevel Posted March 14, 2007 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hello, I was checking out the logo/jersey's the Nordiques were going to use for the 95-96 season before they left Quebec & I really didn't like the Huskie logo that they had. I mixed a new huskie face {NIU retired logo} and a triangle to make it look different. I also used the original Nordiques logo for a black third jersey. So I just wanted to change that concept a little with this one, but still use a huskie as the new logo. Yes it is the old logo that has been retired. I never really understood the wolf, and the huskie makes even less sense to me. I like the addition of the dark blue to the old Nordiques jerseys though. I would switch the wolf logo to a shoulder pad logo and put the igloo on the primary for the home and away. That said, I replaced it anyway, or rather integrated it into a Quebec Nordiques coat of arms of sorts: A rampart to represent the walls of the old city, the N-igloo as a nod to the past, a fleur-de-lis to represent the province of Quebec, and an Old English Q because, well, I didn't know what to put in the last quadrant. Let's say that the English letter is supposed to reach out to Anglophone fans. I don't know. Anyway, navy and a darker shade of blue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
