Quebec Nordiques Concept - Huskie Logo

Hello, I was checking out the logo/jersey's the Nordiques were going to use for the 95-96 season before they left Quebec & I really didn't like the Huskie logo that they had. I mixed a new huskie face {NIU retired logo} and a triangle to make it look different. I also used the original Nordiques logo for a black third jersey.

NIU Husky logo???

Unless its an older one, its not.

EDIT-However, it appears that it is the Northeastern University Husky logo.

Pretty good job, although somehow the husky doesn't seem to go with the rest of the jersey.

Well I was thinking that the 95-96 Huskie they were going to use was not all the good as well. So I just wanted to change that concept a little with this one, but still use a huskie as the new logo. :)

Yes it is the old logo that has been retired. They now use a side profile Huskie with NIU underneath it. See below:

The new logo doesn't fit at all. What the hell do wolves have to do with "Nordiques" anyway? I know they were gonna switch to the wolf jerseys, but it didn't make sense then, and still doesn't, IMO.

yeah I agree with you.

Also you made a litle mistake, you inverse the colors on the right stripe at the back of the home jersey.

For reference: Nordique translates literally to nordic in English

Nor·dic (nôrdk)

adj.

1. Of, relating to, or characteristic of Scandinavia or its peoples, languages, or cultures.

2. Of or relating to a human physical type exemplified by the tall, narrow-headed, light-skinned, blond-haired peoples of Scandinavia. Not in scientific use.

3. Sports Of or relating to ski competition featuring ski jumping and cross-country racing.

So the best option for a logo would be a skinny narrowed headed Finn on skis? I never really understood the wolf, and the huskie makes even less sense to me. I like the addition of the dark blue to the old Nordiques jerseys though.

You could still make this concept work. I would switch the wolf logo to a shoulder pad logo and put the igloo on the primary for the home and away. The red triangle could work if you added some red striping to the jersey and put more red in the igloo.

Good effort on the wolf logo, but it just doesn't belong on the front

I've never understood what the old logo was though. I mean is it just an N with a hockey stick? I don't really like it.

An 'n' AND an igloo! It was great and simple!

Sorry dude. That logo was then, and still is HORRIBLE.

No, it's a fine logo. It's an N, and an igloo. That said, I replaced it anyway, or rather integrated it into a Quebec Nordiques coat of arms of sorts: A rampart to represent the walls of the old city, the N-igloo as a nod to the past, a fleur-de-lis to represent the province of Quebec, and an Old English Q because, well, I didn't know what to put in the last quadrant. Let's say that the English letter is supposed to reach out to Anglophone fans. I don't know. Anyway, navy and a darker shade of blue.
