Lalalaloser
They just said on NESN that the Red Sox will wear their St Patricks day green jerseys on April 12 against Seattle in honor of Red Auerbach.
DGivens87
Nice idea, if anything, to help push the green Sox jerseys. Don't kid yourself, though - the tribute to Red is just a front to sell more jerseys. The Sox have been talking about sporting the green jersey during the regular season for quite some time. Now they have a reason. A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN!

hormone
Great. We have the RED sox wearing green, the BLUE jays wearing black, and the WHITE sox wearing black. In all honesty, like previously stated, the Sox are wearing these so they can make more green of their own, not really for Red A. I myself own a green Sox jersey as well as the green hat, never wear it though. It'd be nice to see them use the green hat, but I can't wait to see these in real action. And P.S. their SOCKS are still RED.
FiddySicks
Personally, with Boston's supposed Irish culture, I think they should make the greens the Alt and ditch the reds. PeytonManningRocks
don't forget about the Green MonsterThat's what I was thinking too. But even if there is a lot of green in Fenway, I don't like green/red combos in sports. I don't know......it just doesn't go together that well. At least when teams have red and green in their logo, for the most part (except for the Bucks) they're smart enough to only use one of those colors in the jersey design. DEAD!
.... well the green jerseys won't affect how a colour blind person will watch a game at Fenway.... I saw, I came, I left.

jab8281965
The Red Sox are whores, their owners are nothing but pimps who bilk the Boston sports fan into paying top dollar for a third rate facility where the seats are awful, the sight lines non-existent and the amenities (while improved from the prior ownership) are sub par at best. And this is from a Sox season ticket holder since 1988.Fenway park is a jewel of a ballpark, but a CRAPPY place to play games.Truth of the matter is that John Henry is a billionaire who bought the team and leveraged it to the hilt, so he could play the "we're broke" line with the Sox fans. They say "we're not making money on the team" and because of their legal structure, they're right. They aren't but the myriad of partnerships and corporations they have set up are making a ton of money. They stole the team from the Yawkey Foundation and have done nothing but bilk the Boston sports fan ever since. Sure your ass hurts for the next 11 days after watching a game there, but it's a thousand times better than it was in 1999. They're not miracle workers, they can't turn the piece of crap the building was before they took over into the next state of the art stadium over night. Each season they've upgraded something that the fans have loved. Yeah sightlines suck, the big one, but how on earth is that John Henry's fault? Last time I checked he didn't design the park. Would you rather have a new Fenway, or the one we all love that's getting modernized each season? Overall I like their stance on keeping Fenway, and sticking with tradition. Sure they may be a bit arrogant, but what billionare isn't? Or yeah, they also fielded a World Championship team in 2004, which you might've forgotten. Something the Yawkees (who were openly racist mind you) never accomplished since buying the team in 1933.The only thing I can't stand about the current Sox brass is Larry Luchino, if he isn't a cancer to an organization, I don't know what is. I see no reason for your complaining, if you don't like ownership who consistanly produces a winning product, well then, I'm sure the Devil Rays could use some fans.Wait..... is your name by any chance Dan Duquette??? Byron19
And the new regime tried to make inroads to getting the state to give them some help in infrastructure and other monies for a park, but the state told them to take a hike. Just like they told Bob Kraft to take a walk when he wanted to bring the Pats back to Boston (specifically South Boston). Personally, I hate Fenway and would love to be the guy to hit the plunger when they finally blow that place up, but to put the blame on Henry, Luccino, et. all is factually incorrect. If you want a new park, blame the state and city goverment as well as the vampires, I mean land owners, surrounding the park who won't sell their crap businesses for anything less than 20 times the market value.
