This logo is from the Green Country Roller Girls League based in Tulsa Oklahoma. Logo designed by Matt Whitley. As in hockey, they have house teams and travel (all-star) teams that goto tournaments.So if you check the Atlanta Team, you think your getting one team, but the team is sub-divided into league teams who play each other.Some leagues have "meat squads" or rookies who go out and get punished like the NFL 'practice' squads. Damd - it's a thing of beauty. I am committed to find a favourite squad I want to follow... so far I was impressed with the Boston - Wicked Pissahs, Gotham's Bronx Gridlock and Manhattan Mayhem... more investigating to do when I get home... rainmaker17 Posted March 23, 2007 Share Posted March 23, 2007 I've been a huge TXRD fan for 5 years and it's a blast. The bouts are exciting, the girls are usually pretty friendly and they sell beer.....what more do you need? Unfortunately the team I pull for, The Rhinestone Cowgirls are in the tank this season (losing key players to injury and,yes pregnancy will do that to you). TXRD is a banked track league that was featured on a short-lived A&E show called "Rollergirls", I'm sure it's available for rent for the curious. It's about a single mom trying to balance her personal life, being a mother and her desire to be a STAR. Luigi74 Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 My cousin and her husband are both involved with the Steel City Derby Demons, she is a skater, he is a ref and both help run the league, they have been selling out this hockey complex outside of Pittsburgh at around 1,500 people per bout.I have been using this as a sig.They also have some cool posters promoting their bouts.The Hot Metal Hellions won.Next month's bout.Cleveland's roller derby should get some props for the great name and they have two logo's.
