On the official site, it shows a graphic with what looks like a very dark gray helmet. Then, in the AFL video with Bon Jovi and Elway, it looks like the helmets are silver. Riddell has been creating a custom color for the Soul (from a paint chip in the Lexus 2004 car brochure) but the team had promotional needs that mandated using silver for the commercials and then black for practice sessions.That's what I know..."Hope this helps... yh Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 Well, in all fairness, an AFL team's equipment needs are somewhat smaller than that of an "outdoor" team's. It's not like they're buying helmets by the gross. That being said, if the silver and black helmets aren't simply stored for use in training camps I am sure they will be donated to a high school for a nice tax writeoff.
