I have a source with the Blues who tells me that the new uniforms include some sort of "vertical piping". My only guess is that it's similar to what the Lake Monsters have. It may be something along those lines.

True but hardly a scoop. John Davidson publicly stated they are vertical months ago.

It seems like the "Dallas" script jersey would be unwise in terms of sales. If someone wanted to buy a replica, he/she would have to get one with a name and number on it or the jersey would look dumb. Considering the outrageous price of the new jerseys, most people will be just getting the nameless, numberless jerseys which will look really bad from the front. Can anyone competent in photoshop, take the number out to see how plain a regular blank replica would look?

See, I think that's exactly why they're doing it: the jersey looks empty and incomplete without a number on the front, so a good percentage of people will be more prone to shell out the extra dough for customization.

Personally, I think the Stars' new look would be about 300% better if "DALLAS" was done in a serifed block font, and if the letters and numbers were 3-layer green-black-gold or white-black-green.

I have a source whose friend works at the store where former Stars assistant to the traveling secretary Mark Gregson bought his washer-dryer combo three years ago and he confirmed these jerseys are the real thing, but he says we're confused. The picture shown is of new Stars goalie Dallas Rogers; the front of the jersey won't say Dallas for everyone, it's actually going to say the player's first name. Much better than having the city name on the front, in my opinion.

Yea Dallas' jersey gets the "Worst jersey to get without numbers" (And I usually buy blank replicas, so im certainly not buying dallas' jersey) but that aside i think it looks kinda good, its different, only complaint I have is the lack of green.

That looks like one of those cheap, non-licensed jersey that you can find for $14.37 at Wal-Mart. Except, of course, you'll have to pay the full $119.99 for this one.

exactly, it reminds me of the old NHLPA hockey for SNES before they got the NHL license, so all the players were there but the teams were just called "Detroit" or "Vancouver" and had generic script logos. that was before Dallas though but "Minnesota" had similar jerseys.

(OT) Speaking of home team names on home jerseys, the Nanaimo Clippers (my local BCHL team) unveiled new white home jerseys with 'NANAIMO' and the numbers on the front of them. Looks like this is becoming more and more common now in hockey.

Terrible. At least Nashville and Florida look (arguably) bad in something that's a new idea. Dallas has managed to look terrible in something not even original.

Are we surprised though? The last few Dallas jerseys have merely been All-Star clones, and this looks like Anaheim's old third, although we haven't seen the bottom stripes yet. Not in a million years did I ever think I'd prefer Dallas's old jerseys to anything, but I do now.

If you find that it's "actually funny" how designers think the jerseys look good, some of them will be appearing at a comedy club in Regina this week. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm sure if you google it, it should pop up.

I am sure I missed something either on this thread or elsewhere, but allow me to ask what may be an obvious question:

In light of the "Dallas STARS" on the white and the "DALLAS" on the dark, is there any chance that they are switching back to white at home. I doubt it, based on this board, but it just seems so silly that the Stars would not flip/flop it.

The city name should be on the aways whites and Stars on the home darks. Duh.
