WR: Roy Williams, Santana Moss, Joey Galloway, Dwayne Jarrett, Ted Ginn Jr.

Yeah, I didn't draft so well, especially after trading away my first-rounder, which hurt me more than I thought it would. But I've pulled a trade or two since that have turned out well.

Now that most, if not all, of the regular seasons are over and the playoffs are beginning this week...how did your teams fare? How much of an overhaul did your roster go through over the course of the season?

As you may have already seen in my sig, the Las Vegas Flying Aces have won their 8-team league for the first time, with a 12-2 record (the regular season title is the big prize in this league, accounting for a full 50% of the total league prize pool), and also the points championship with 795 (second place was 780). The Aces will now go for the league trifecta by winning the playoffs. Here is a partial reposting of a news article I posted on the league Web site earlier today:

LAS VEGAS - "It's hard to find the words to describe how I feel right now," Flying Aces CEO and head coach [Viper] told the raucous SRO crowd of over 71,000 at PokerStars Coliseum after his team's 41-39 victory over Milwaukee in Week 13. "In fact I can think of only three..."

"...VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!"

The fans' roar in response was loud enough to shatter six seasons' worth of mediocrity and frustration - not to mention every fragile object inside, or within 300 feet of PokerStars Coliseum - and touched off the kind of celebration that can only happen in Sin City: a massive, decadently wild affair that lasted seven whole days, all the way through the Aces' regular-season finale against New York.

[Viper] addressed the fans after his team, in its seventh season, clinched its first Fanatical Fantasy Football League championship, the culmination of an unbelievable season which saw the Aces, historically slow regular-season starters, defeat every other team in the league to go undefeated in the first half of the 2007 campaign, then cruise to a final record of 12-2, by far the best in franchise history. Led by breakout quarterback Tony Romo and rookie phenom running back Adrian Peterson, the Aces also took a commanding early lead in the total-points race. That lead was slowly whittled down in the second half of the season, but it still required a record-setting 102-point game (ironically, also in Week 13) for the New York Nemesis to finally wrest that lead away. Even that proved to be short-lived, as the Aces reclaimed the points lead for good in a 65-37 win over the Nemesis in the finale, for a final season tally of 795 points to New York's 780.

[Viper]'s team will now go for the league trifecta by winning the 3FL playoffs, hosting Panama City in a semifinal matchup for the right to face the winner of the New York-East Bay semifinal in Fanatic Bowl XIV - which would also be a de facto home game for the Flying Aces, whose home stadium has doubled as the permanent home for the postseason final since 2002. Or would it?

"We'd wear our home reds and get to use our own locker room, but that's about it," said [Viper] when asked about Fanatic Bowl home-field advantage during the Week 14 postgame news conference. "The way the stadium is decked out for that game, it looks and feels like an almost entirely different venue from a regular home game. And it's not just our fans who will be there, it's fans for the other team and from all over the league. That's why all the casinos here love the Fanatic Bowl coming to town every year. All the top poker players too... I hear some of them even call it 'The Big Fish Fry'."

Regardless of the Flying Aces' postseason results, the city of Las Vegas is already planning a championship parade in the team's honor on December 28. The parade route will begin on Fremont Street, then proceed down the Las Vegas Strip before winding its way back to the Coliseum.

Here is the final team roster (usual starters in bold):

QB: Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers

RB: Adrian Peterson, Marion Barber, Rudi Johnson, Julius Jones, DeAngelo Williams

WR: Reggie Wayne, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Andre Johnson, D.J. Hackett, Kevin Curtis, Koren Robinson

TE: Chris Cooley, Ben Watson

PK: Matt Stover, Jason Hanson

This league uses IDPs rather than team defenses, and I changed those starters every week so nobody is in bold. Here is my defensive roster:

DL: Aaron Schobel, Osi Umenyiora

LB: London Fletcher, DeMeco Ryans, D.J. Williams

DB: Kerry Rhodes, Bob Sanders, Roy Williams

Edit: I almost forgot... Here is the championship game logo for this league (designed, BTW, before PokerStars changed their wordmark):

So much for my trifecta... All but one of my starters laid goose-eggs - or worse, negative points - in the playoff semis this week. I still have Adrian Peterson starting tonight, but he's not going to rescue the Flying Aces by himself. Oh well... I still took home the big prize in that league.

As for my namesake team, they had a rough year, but it looks like the Vipers are going to close it out with two straight 2-win weeks (that league plays doubleheaders) and stay out of the cellar. Depending on the Monday night scoring, they will finish the season in either 8th or 9th place out of 11 teams.

Both my Keystone Irish (League with friends) and Minnesota Loons (UFL) went 12-2 and won their respective division. The Irish received a first round bye in the playoffs and will play their arch-rival the Quahog Slappers in the semi-finals. The Loons however choked to the Vancouver Sockeyes in the American Conference championship game.

Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool

After two seasons as the doormats of the UFL The Virginia Vultures have made it to the united bowl. In the first season I had a 3-11 record and then a 4-10 record in my second season. This year the Vultures went 8-5-1, qualified for the playoffs and rode Adrian Peterson to victory in round one. Next Week is the United Bowl against the Vancouver Sockeyes also a cellar-dweller turned title contender.

My lineup:

Phillip Rivers/Damon Huard/Kyle Boller (I've had lots of injuries at Quarterback, it is my team's weakness)

Adrian Peterson

Kenny Watson/Reggie Bush Q

Chad Johnson/Micheal Jenkins

Greg Jennings

Antonio Gates/Greg Olsen

Buccaneers D/ST/Bills

Mike Nugent/Nate Kaeding

Adrian Peterson has been they key to my success and so has Greg Jennings. The rest of the team sort of just adds points here and there.
